Do you think the new dr who is as good as it used to be? does david tennant fill the shoes well enough? have the new story lines been as good as the old ones? I try and watch it every week though i missed yesterdays one but i will be watching the repeat tonight but what do you think of it overall?

I look forward to it each week as well but it's a shame there is no more until christmas but hopefully torchwood will fill the gaps in for a weekly dose.

I think this series has been a bit more up and down than others, but thats due to storylines i feel rather than plots. Martha took a bit to get into her role, but is very good in it now (i hope she stays after all!) I think my fave series is series 2, that had some great storylines, a great finale and david tennant! Chris eccleston was good, but much prefer david tennant. Never really seen the old ones though, do they ever repeat them? Just got freeview so maybe the old ones are on there!

they used almost all the time on ukgold - but I don't think any are shown on freeview except some random 60's/70's episodes occasionally on a BBC4 theme night.

My brother use to watch the older Dr.Who and I would watch when he would let me and either get scared or make fun of it. I was a little kid so give me a break lol. He did get Mom to take us to a Dr.Who convention here in Iowa and I got to met one of the compainions, I think it wass Tegian (bad spelling). When I saw Sci-Fi channel was going to start it up again I was like hmmm it might be interesting, I wounder how much they will Hollywood it up. I feel some of the episodes they did but not to bad. Now ever week I make a smoothie and a steak and it was about the only thing I had to look forward to. I saw the season premiear tonight. I wasn't that impressed. It seemed to bring up Rose a little to much for my taste. I had the biggest crush on Rose and she will be missed and David Tennant is not nearly as good as Christopher Eccleston. He seems to be more cocky in my opinion. Also Marth may be good but she'll never replace Rose *sigh*. Just wondering the season finale when the Dalecks and the Cyber men were first talking. Did anyone else fall over laughing when they were talking smack about eachother? I keept expecting one of them say "your momma". lmao

I have to admit that I didn't enjoy the first series with David Tennant as much as I am enjoying this latest series, and that's probably because I like Christopher Ecclestone and didn't think he did it long enough to get to know another new doctor. However, having said that, this series has been excellent every story so far has been extremely well executed and it feels to me that the whole series has been a bit darker, still has humour, but it's more like what Dr Who should be, a bit more mysterious and a lot less of the companions family and boyfriends!

i felt the same with regards to christopher he left the show way too quickly and for a reason that i found a little pants to be honest though his new role in hero's is a damn good one. I agree the first season wasn't all that good and they had a few teething problems with it but since then especially this current series has been way better and the inclusion of captin jack was a brilliant idea and to have the torchwood spin off as well.

I personally think the new dr who series are a lot better - more engaging, obviously much better effects, and the doctors are great! Really witty and funny and clever, etc.

I think it's alot better made then the originals and i enjoy the new series (which started in 2005) I think David Tennant is good now, i was unsure at first, but now he is good as the Doctor.

I really enjoy the new series of Dr Who and I think that David Tennant makes a great doctor. I havn't missed an episode since before the two-parter where Rose got trapped on the alternate earth.
