Why do you start discussions on myLot?

I usually start discussions relating to things I am excited or passionate about. Things that make me happy or things that make me mad. I am starting discussions today to try to find things out. Trying to learn about other members, and trying to find out some things about myLot.

I start Discussions because I like to share the good and funny things with my Friends Or like you let my Friends things know that I have been up to and that if it is worth telling When I come back next week I will be telling about my time away I like to cheer my Friends up when I can

Things that make me want to post are what happens to me and I am really really interested in getting answers to what affects me so I can get advice. I also like to ask thought-provoking questions like the one I asked about what 3 books would someone pick if they watched, "The Time Machine" the original because I like to know what makes people think is important. That's a good point you made, though, about asking something we're passionate about. Lately I haven't been able to come up with any new discussion ideas. I have to think about it and not just ask anything that comes to the top of my head, you know what I mean? That's just me. It seems to be a problem for me to find a good question to answer also but you came up with a good question. LOL Thank you.

It is much better to think of good discussions than to just write anything. Sometimes thoughts will come at odd times, and it helps to have paper and pencil then.

Hi, Artsimba. I'm feeling that way, too. I always choose to post those happened to me or some good points that are interesting enough and can draw others' attention here. We might encounter the same problem! Recently, I coundn't raise a large amount of good points. These days, I can only respond to those great postings. I hope we can get rid of it as soon as possible and come up with good topics like before. Have a nice day! :)

I start a discussion because I want to see how many people respond to it. I start a discussion when I think a great topic :D.

I start my discussions for the same reason as you do. If there is something that i want to know or want information on then i start one. If i am peeved about something then i start one. If i just need help to understand i start one. I dont have alot of started discussions, i acually perfere to respond to other peoples then i like starting my own. Sometimes i can find a discussion similar to that of one i might start to get info and there i go i am set. LOL Good Luck with your discussions today

I enjoy reading lots of posts. I always rate them, even if I do not respond to them.

I tend to do the same thing, to post on what I am most passionate about-- It's interesting as the most fun I have had starting a discussion was something I am passionate about, but is not really controversial. Cooking. I am starting to get some of the best advice on recipies that I have never cooked before from fellow myLottians. It's been quite a help!

I have a strong tendancy to start discussions about interesting news items, or World Iddues such as poverty, nuclear energy, etc. These interest me, but apparently people don't really like these "heavy" topics. I try to find "lighter" topics every now & then.Which is why I haven't started so many doscussions lately.

I mainly start discussions about things I hope are of general interest to other people. Sometimes I'll be curious about something, or perhaps I've come across something in an email and I give my opinion and ask others for theirs. I've actually changed my opinion once or twice because other's experiences have given me more information on my topic.

I am very in tune with my friends on my list. If for instance something comes up either between my hubby and me, or friends, what ever the topic, I will say to my husband, you know what so.. and so.... would love to hear more about this. And if it is something not relating to more than two of my friends I would send them a private message on the subject. I am just as busy communicating to my friends on MyLot than sending out private messages.LoL! That is why it is so frustrating when it doesn't work properly. Quite a few of my friends and I are emailing each other to and from our personal mail boxes.

Hi, GardenGerty. I think we're in common to some extent. It can help us know better of others by starting discussions and also solve some problems we met. I'm really glad to receive my responses and share opinions with other myLotters here. But lately, I have fewer new discussions because it seems that there's less interesting topic on my mind than before. How unluncky I am! I couldn't share those interesting ones with others. But at least, I can respond to those of others. Have a nice day! :)
