Can anyone beat this. Do you have a really dumb or embarassing story to share?
Printing Yellow
I had been doing Tech Support for Hewlett-Packard's DeskJet division for about a month when I had a customer call with a problem I just couldn't solve. She could not print yellow. All the other colors would print fine, which truly baffled me because the only true colors are cyan, magenta, and yellow.
For instance, green is a combination of cyan and yellow, but green printed fine. Every color of the rainbow printed fine except for yellow. I had the customer change ink cartridges. I had the customer delete and reinstall the drivers. Nothing worked. I asked my coworkers for help; they offered no new ideas.
After over two hours of troubleshooting, I was about to tell the customer to send the printer in to us for repair when she asked quietly, "Should I try printing on a piece of white paper instead of this yellow paper?"

LOL, I love stories like this, it just give me such boost, cause let me tell ya I can do some really dumb things! It's like one day I called Hubby at work all in a huff cause my modem had stopped working after a storm we had and I couldn’t get on the net. Well he gave me a chewing out since I didn't turn my puter off and was complaining about the money it would cost for new one. He then said, "Haven't I told you a thousand times to turn the pc off and unplug the phone line!". I jumped right back at him at this point, I was tired of being treated like a child, so I yelled back at him "Look bud I did and for you information the darn phone line is still unplugged!!"
Yep, like I said, love stories of other's goofs!

My latest on was the other day when I was turning the house upside down looking for my sunglasses. I never leave home with out them. I was actually getting very frustrated and they were sitting on my head. I have also done this with my handbag and its on my shoulder. You really just want to kick yourself. hahah

Now you know what to ask first when a similar discussion comes along. My nephew worked at a call center and learned to ask "Is it plugged in" about televisions that had problems with their satellite service. I will wager that the caller also was saying "Duh!" to herself about the situation as well. I am sure if you had had the visual, like if she had been on a webcam or something, you would have caught on immediately. I have faith in those abilities of yours. It is good for a laugh now, at a distance.

These things are so funny, I just read it this morning...makes you want to tell them to pack up the copy machine and bring it back to the store because they are to stupid to own it. I feel sorry for the tech support guy he must have been going nuts.
