Well, something very strange just happened to me, not sure if its good or bad

Lavender through the post - Here is the bunch as it arrived, its sending its sophorific sweet scent throughout my home as we speak, but im still at a loss as to why it came or indeed what to do with it, any ideas?

This morning I was busy doing my mylot thing, answering letters, doing my real work and getting ready to go back to prison tommorow, all was fine until i heard the russle of the letter box being interfeared with by one of those agents of the state, the post delivery people. Well, gentle reader, today was unusual. Plopping on to my mat was a padded envelope, addressed correctly to me. No identification as to who it was from. Well, because of the work I do, not many people get to know my address, or indeed my real name, but this one was correct. Whats more, it didnt look to be a bill (the usual product of a visit from one of the post delivery people) but instead was dressed as a normal letter (albeit in a big padded envelope). On opening however, no note or written communication at all. No, instead, what I found was a small bunch of lavender. Fresh flowers, mmmm through the post? Now, im not saying someone means me anything but good, but im at a loss as to why it should arrive in this manner?

Being lavender, I don't think it would be anything sinister, because who would send lavender to an enemy? It fragrance is meant to be calming. It could be that the sender may have prepared a note or card and then forgot to put it in the envelope. I have had something similar in an unsigned Xmas card that came from Bristol (postmark). I didn't think I knew anybody in Bristol, but later discovered that a friend of mine had left his wife and gone to live with his new partner in Bristol. Mystery solved. But what if I hadn't heard from his wife? I would have wondered who was playing tricks perhaps.. Enjoy your lavender :-)

maybe someone just wanted to cheer you up a little bit. Do you work in a prison? Are you thinking it was someone from there?

i do work in a prison but anything addressed to me from there would have to come from administration or would be stopped . It doesnt really bother me, they are nice flowers but just a note would have been nice blessed be

I'm sure any kind of explanation would have been nice. Hopefully you will get some hints soon. I can't see someone doing that and then not somehow letting you know a little about it.

Ahhh that is wonderful, sounds like a Secret Admirer, perhaps it is a friend that you know that has feelings for you and knows your address but is too shy to come forward, too bad there was not a return address, is there a return stamp to see at least where it came from??

I would be skeptical if I were you. Especially in light of the fact that you keep your identity a bit of a secret. However, there can always be a positive message behind the flowers. You may never know though. It may remain one of the great secrets of your life.

Strange indeed. I don't have a clue either what that would mean. I hope you find out who sent them and why. Good luck to you.

Do any of your friends here on myLot know your address? I have one friend who just posted recipes to do with lavender, for summer solstice.I think she is your friend, too. If it is not possible to be one of us, but you want the recipes, I will find them and send you a link, as I am ever the practical, " do not let the lavender go a bit to waste" type person.

hahaha thank you so much but no, im afraid no one on here has my home address, silly as it sounds im not allowed to give it out because of the sensative nature of the prison i work in. Thats why it came as a bit of a shock when i got the envelope. However, im still waiting for the hammer to fall blessed be

Well, we have entered the age of Aquarious lol so who really knows. Lavendar is known to promote relaxation and healing, and is a good natural air freshner. Perhaps someone was trying to tell you to slow down, meditate smell the roses? Or you have smelly socks?

I have a book that tells you the meaning of flowers, apparently in the past leaving flowers for people or sending them was a way of sending a message in secret and different flowers have specific meanings. I'll go and look up the meaning of lavender and more details about where the tradition comes from if you are interested.

I would definitely be wary of this. Sure, it seems like flowers aren't any harm...But with no letter.. Just stuffed into an envelope and sent to you.. I mean you never know. I really don't know what to tell you except that if anything like this happens again, I'd talk to my friends about it, see if they've done anything or gotten something similar in the mail, then go from there. Good luck to you and God bless.

Hahahahahaha! You really scared me with this prison thing! :D I read the posts because I was pretty sure someone would mention it, and I was relieved when I read you work there. :D About the lavender... Well, I have no idea, but I wouldn't be scared. Sure it might have different meaning, but it's not very scary in my opinion. Sorry, I think I'm more interested on the prison part than on the lavender part. Hahaha!

You may have an experience with a person with a strange sense of humor. People and God work in mysterious ways. People often try to give me stuff and I usually reject these free offerings..I am always very wary of gifts from people...what is their motive? God luck with trying to figure out this mystery. It probably will be revealed to you sooner or later. You are being in some ones thoughts...God be with thee.

Hi Eskarena, it is a strange one and i'm not quite sure why someone would put lavendar in a letter to you or how they got your address, but I'm pretty sure it's not a bad open and should think yourself lucky in a way to get this attention? I can understand how unnerving and frustrating it could be though. Could it be the person you were attracted to some months ago that you put a discussion up on here about?? Hope it brings you luck my friend, and if you do find out who it is, then put us out of our misery lol Blessed Be

No doubt, a very strange delivery, but I agree that it doesn't sound threatening at all. Sounds like someone is sending a cryptic message - too intimidated to be straightforward - just yet lol

i think it is more of a surprise, haha!!^^, this just came into my mind, that someone close to you is just making fun, and just making you think much about so you will not bother yourself thinking of a near event which is to be in a form of a surprise..birthday?hehe, is you birthday near?..haah!!^^ Or maybe, someone is longing to have chat with you and very shy to approach you so i think he/she gave you that because it has significant meaning in both of you.. Or the one who gave you that is your secret admirer, or a person who have crush on you, or a lover.. Or, you just forgot that you order lavender then forget to filled up the name, hehe, hahah!!^^LOL, Or, Or, Or??(?.?) it is very mysterious, is he a gay/lesbians, why is he very afraid or coward to show his being, hmmm...???lavender, i just have read this that it is a very much likeness but not love, i know i know..hihi!!^^..HE IS A FAN OF YOURS!!^^, just kidding, oh my gosh, i cannot think of anything else, thanks..just give me a comment and i will be happy..(O.R)?
