What is the most prestigious beauty pageant, MISS UNIVERSE or MISS WORLD?

Miss Universe and Miss World is the top-most prestigious beauty pageant. The question is, what do you think is more prestigious, Miss Universe or Miss World? Miss Universe is running for 56 years while Miss World for 57 years. As the years goes by, both pageants have done major changes in their respective pageant formats. Miss World has more contestants than Miss Universe. Also, Miss World gives the audience a chance to select who will be their choice for continental queens thus, audience has a voice/ participation in selecting the winners. Production wise, Miss Universe is better than Miss World. For the crowns, though I like both of the crowns, I prefer the Miss Universe crown than the Miss World crown because the Miss Universe crown is simply elegant. The similarities between Miss Universe and Miss World is that the owners, Donald Trump and Julia Morely, have a say on which candidate should win. They can really influenced the judges in selecting the semi-finalists, finalists, and eventually the winner. Miss Universe is famous in South America and Asia while Miss World is famous in Europe. The final verdict............. MISS UNIVERSE is the most prestigious beauty pageant. :)

i guess it is Miss World. because the audience worldwide has the say who they want to win.. there is audience participation, and it is not easy doing so.. because how will they ever be able to do it with more than a billion of people around the world? with regards to production, i think both are the same. they are both good, and there is not much differences or diffeciencies.. and so my final verdict is Miss WORLD!!!

For me I dont find both beauty pageant as prestigious because today most pageants are more on political aspects and money matters, But on the other hand it is entertaining watching beautiful women in their swimsuits and gowns. Just my opinion d=)

ahm, i grew up watching Miss Universe so my only choice would be Miss U. lol. i dont see much of Miss WORLD so i dont have any idea what going on with that show. in our country, who really won the country's crown will be the one competing the Miss U pageant whereas her runner-up will be in Miss World.

I'd have to go for Miss World on this one. A pageant should really scrutinize the contestants but at the same time use the diversity of beauty to look for the winner. Miss World has been a good pageant in terms of representation because it is pageant that is not dominated by latinas. It gives contestants from different regions to be part of the semi-finals. It has a more diverse set of competing candidates with different ethnicity. I used to like miss universe more because the contestants are so hot. Unfortunately, after Trump took over the pageant I think it actually loss it's essence. I kinda think that it loss it's class.
