Live in relationship is a type of arrangement between a man and women who live together without getting marriage , for a particular period, in order to find out whether they are compatible in all respects or not . In case they find that there is no compatibility between them, they seperate and in case they feel compatible they go ahead and get married. This is a concept derived from the west. It is more in practice there. But in Indian society it is still a matter of debate. What do u think about it? Is it good to encourage live in relationship?

i guess that would depend on many factors...how the partners felt about it...how the families felt about it...and the consequences if it was to take place where it is not widely practiced....

I dont think this approach to marriage has in any way enhanced or benefitted our society. Divorce rates are the highest in the world, over one out of every three. It has devalued the marriage arrangement people dont want or need to make a life long commitment families have suffered. How can anyone feel safe and secure in a relationship if the other party can walk out if things get ackward or disagreeable. Where is the loyalty. No the west hasnt achived family stability because of its liberal attitude.

Well I can only go on my own experiences and I have found living with my husband prior to getting married helped us learn to live and get along with each other and I was able to find out more about him and his habits. Usually this is frowned upon in our culture however, this was a decision that was made by myself and my husband at the time. My parents were overseas when we got together and because we were old enough at the time, they were ok with it.
