So the kids and I decided we want to burn crap this weekend in the pit and just hang out for the weekend etc...In order to do that though we had to drive the tractor out into the woods to our spot and collect wood....Man let me tell ya, what a workout LOL Hauling trees, trunks, branches, knockin dead trees down etc really is a great workout! LOL I forget sometimes how much I love to do hard labour....When we gutted and redid 3 of the upstairs rooms (we completely gutted them and had to get rid of the old blown-in insulation, knock down walls etc etc) I kept up wiht my hubby toe to toe (shocked him too LOL) and LOVED IT....since then I've really not gotten my hands dirty or "put my back into it" though so being out there today was BLOODY FABULOUS!! Any other ladies (or gents) actually ENJOY workin hard doing physical type work? Do you get to do it often?

And break my nails?? LOL, just kidding. I love doing things like that. I reckon that is why I go to my Mom's once in a while and clean it for her. Last time I did that, I tore up her carpet, patched holes in the wall and washed all her rooms down. It looked like a new home, of course THAT only lasted a day or two. *sigh*

I love doing those types of things too! I love making something look pretty or drastically different - for the better. Otherwise though I would hate it because I feel the pay off just isn't worth the physical effort put into it.

Funny thing is, I could not agree with you more!!! I love doing the hard work. I enjoy that aches and pains the following days that remind me how hard I worked. Or continuing the next day with the aches and pains and to stress and pull the soreness out of my muscles. :) I enjoy getting dirty and feeling the exhaustion. Those days are the days that I truly wear myself out to the point that I can sleep normal hours. And when all is done, I can stand back and look to see what my hard work accomplished....what I accomplished. And if done with my family...even better. What WE accomplished!!! No, I don't get to do it that often anymore. I have become a stay home mom that does not have the opportunity to do any of these things. We don't have the money for the projects that need to be done or I want to do. So, I will just have to settle for weeding the ivy and working in the yard. Not as rewarding...but it is still work that I get dirty and can stand back and know that I accomplished it.

I've always enjoyed hard yakka up until my hernia and weight gain, sciatica, osteo-arthritic knees and carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. I worked hard all my life and played hard too. I'm still strong just no longer fit or able. About 14 years ago, I painted all the walls in my home with two coats. It took me less than 3 days. I recently painted my bedroom with 2 coats and it took me over 3 days...lol. I really miss not being able to go up ladders and fix things under the house etc. Oh well, ya never know, I might meet a tall dark and handsome handyman one day. ;)

Well, since you have the bon fire going.....can I burn some of my hubby's crap also??? LOL As for doing hard physical work, yeah, I do it once in awhile. It can be a lot of fun. I like to float concrete, cut and tie steel, hammer, put up fences, dig holes and plant new things. There is a bridge in Texas that I helped build. I was the only woman on the crew. I had an apprenticeship in steel work. I walked away at the end of that job with a really good feeling of accomplishment.

Good job for you!! I don't get to do it too often and it never seems to be something I plan*L* At the beginning of this month though we had town clean up. Well there was a bunch of stuff that needed to be done around the house because we moved into it in the fall and winter got us before we got things done. My older daughter and I started working while he went to pick up our other daughter. What I didn't know was the he was going to get her hair cut too. By the time he got home he was shocked because not only did I have most things taken to the dumpster but I had torn somethings down and started cleaning that up too. I loved it. He didn't like it as much as I did because he wasn't in the mood to do all that work but had to because we had already started it*L* I got a lot done that day and am very pleased with myself.

Good job! You are a lot more energetic than me. lol I have to really be in the mood to work in order to enjoy it. There's a reason they call it work or labor. I really need to get busy cleaning though. I've been so lazy lately.
