I do. Even in winter I like to have at least a bit open. Of course with the heating on it's not a very good idea, but I really need to have that fresh air coming trough. It was easier back home since it was never that cold that an open window would upset the heating system or would make the room too cold. I have to confess me and hubby sometimes argue a bit about it, because he prefers not to have any open windows when he's sleeping. I just find it so stuffy in our homes, specially here where during the winter all windows are closed because of the heating and during the summer all windows must be closed because of the air conditioner - and I do confess that I overlook the rules a few times and open that window a bit no matter what:) What about you .. how do you prefer to sleep? Open window or not at all?

Open window...all year around!!! My husband and I both love the to sleep in a cool room..bordering on cold in the winter...I think we have only closed it when the temp is close to 0 degrees F....and that rarely happens in Seattle!!!! It doesn't upset the heating in our home because we don't heat our bedroom!! It may sound uncomfortable but it isn't...we both sleep very well in the winter with the window open ( only about 3 inches)...Now in the summer our old house gets very hot upstairs, so we have a room air conditioner that keeps us cool and comfy during the really hot nights...otherwise it's the window open and an opportunity for a nice breeze to float through!!!

Yes, I like it like that too. And I always prefer to have the house a bit to the cool side than to the hot. Of course in here the winter are very cold and heating is a must so I have to balance both things. During the summer I really have trouble because the houses are made to conserve heat due to the harsh winters. So it does get stuffy and very hot inside and unfortunately the air conditioner is a must.

When I am along, I hardly open the window when I sleep. Because I am worried about the safety. Though it is not well for no fresh air. If it is safe enough, I would rather to open the window. Now it's hot in my living city, I must open window at night. For I cann't suffer from hot.

Well, yes, if safety is a concern I would think twice before sleeping with an open window. If I'm not home or I"M upstairs sleeping I will keep the main floor windows closed as well. But since my room is on the top floor safety is not such a big concern in my case.

Most of the year we have windows open in our bedroom. It is unusually cool this late this year. We should have been hitting over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, but we have not so far. With a window open and a fan we actually use a blanket to be the right temperature. I only run air conditioner if I cannot stand the heat, and actually it seems to be the humidity that is the worst. I probably would have the window open more than my husband. I would really like to have more or larger doors, glass sliders for instance in the back, to really let that fresh air in. I think the fresh air is healthier.

I'm with you, fresh air is certainly healthier.I do have trouble with heat and humidity and the last few days here in toronto have been quite bad. But today there is a breeze and it's so nice I"m going to open my window again:)

No I don't, not unless it is in the day. I need to close my windows before night sets in. The reason is that if I don't do that, bugs and kind will fly in and I would have to end up killing them.:P

OH no, my Lord that won't do. No more bug killing :):):) In here we have screens in our windows so bugs don't really get in. I don't like the screens because they stop me from fully open windows or at least from being able to look outside or lean over the window but I must say they do come handy in the bug department :D

I always like to sleep with open windows,so that fresh air may enter inside the room. But mosquitoes are the main problem. They will come inside and spoil our whole sleep.

Yeah mosquitoes really spoil the whole experience :) And they always come for me that's why I'm happy about the screens on the windows, I didn't like them at first but now I do :)

OH twin dear that's a pity that you can't open your window, but in your case it makes sense so there's nothing else you can do.

I live in Florida where it gets in the 90's and with the humidity it feels like the 100's but I still like some fresh air so I do open my window at night even if the AC is on. I just shut my door and enjoy the fresh air.

Dear arkaf61 Yes I like to sleep with window open .. sometimes and that time is when light is not there in summer days .. I also like to open the window .. when it's a monsoon time. I simply love the fresh air and the great season of monsoon so I simply open the windows and I switch off my air conditioner to make that fresh air come inside and so that I can enjoy :)

Yes, the fresh air is just so different from breathing all the recycled air from the ac. And feeling the breeze... I love that.

During summer season we keep the windows open but in winter we keep the glass window closed and keep a window slightly ajar for ventilation purpose....I get scared to keep window open as i think if anything like lizard or insects can come inside...

I wouldn't want to have that kind of guests coming in either LOL although it is kind of balanced... let the lizard in , the lizard eats the mosquitoes and everyone is happy LOL

No I don't! Because am afraid a white lady may appear on the window. Crzay I know... but am always scared to sleep with an open window. The air that comes in frigthens me as well. I got this fear after watching several horrror movies where ghosts appear on the window at night... gee! It feels spooky.

OH my, being scared would make me keep my window closed as well :) ON the other hand, since ghosts can go trough walls I'm not sure that an open window would stop one if he wanted to come in LOL

Even in the winter I enjoy the crispy cold air coming in at least for a bit. But because it get so cold here during winter I usually just open in a bit and then close again. When I was back home I always keep the window open even in winter:)

At window-never. At summer-ok, why not. Then the heat is so big, that some fresh air is ok.But at winter i think that it`s better to close the window.

i prefer open window to an open door. but of course the answer you get will depend on which part of the world the person is at. an eskimo in an igloo do not have a window so i think they prefers an open hole at the top of the igloo.
