What's your opinion on emos?

Everyone uses the word emo now. Years ago no one even knew what emo meant, so it goes as no suprise that the majority of... well, everyone completley mis-use the word.
It also bothers me that emo is suddenly a type of person, and that everyone and their grandmother seems to think those type of people are uncool.
Half of the people who make fun of "emo" people have a shittier taste in music then "emo" anyway.
So yeah, I get it, ahahaha make fun of emo ahahhahaa.
Making fun of emo is even more cliche then being "emo" in the first place...

I think the emo style in clothes is extremely attractive and classy. I wish there'd been clothes like that when I went to high school. Emo kids come in all colors of course, some are music lovers, some aren't, some need attention, some just dress well in black and so on. There is no "all emo kids are like this", that's just like saying all persons that like opera are smart, or something.

that is so true...Todays Emo is no different to yesterdays Goth and the Goths were totally misunderstood too....

Honestly I cant stand the term myself..I think its more of an insult when ppl use it than anything...That being said though..Emo's to me are todays Goth minus a few key points (of course IMO Goth stopped being Goth in the mid 90s really).....I technically would fit into the "Emo" category but the reality is I'm a Gothygal from way back with a touch of Punk tossed in ;-)...I think we (Emos/Goth etc) really are truly misunderstood in a huge way by majority of society as far as I'm concerned....But aint that just the way though ya know...

i have no problem with emo's. i myself am not emo. some of my friends are Emo and i have no problem with them at all although i know some people who have serious problems with emo! :D

I really don't care how people dress. I try no to stereo type either. If they don't try to down how I dress then I wont judge them.
