It's been one of those weekends....

I was so looking forward to doing much of nothing this weekend except for resting because I spent all of last week moving into a new office at work. I had to move all of my things from the third floor to the first floor. I didn't have to move my desk, they bought me a new desk but I still had my chair, small refrigerator, small file cabinet, printer, scanner, etc. to move along with several boxes. I was wiped out! We worked around the house Saturday doing routine chores and laundry. My husband took his truck to get tires on and when he returned we went to town to pick up a new refrigerator and stove that we had purchased the following week. We waited to pick it up because they had to install the icemaker. Well we get to the store and were first told that they icemaker had not been installed. This is after my husband called on Wednesday to tell them that it would be Saturday before he could pick it up. He was assured that it was no problem and it would be ready on Saturday. I was really ticked off and told him to leave it. They need to install it like they said they would. He didn't want to have to make another trip so told the guy he would install the ice maker. Ended up we didn't get home until after 9 pm so we just unloaded the appliances and got them inside. This morning he set out to get the icemaker installed. The kit was included but he found several parts missing. He had to go to the hardware store and buy fittings. This little project lasted several hours and was a major pain in the behind. Next the stove. It did not come with a plug, it is an electric stove and no plug? Amazing...pay $400 for a new stove and it doesn't come with a plug? Geeze! Next event. I go to strip our bed to wash the sheets. I find water under the mattress (waterbed). Oh boy...a leak! so we have spent the day or the rest of the day draining the mattress. It takes several hours and I'm happy to report that it is finally drained. Now we have to get this mattress out of the house and let the frame dry out. I have a wooden frame and I'm afraid it may be warped. We are going to buy a regular mattress for it-- no more leaks! So I'm expecting this next week to be whacky as well! We will be sleeping in our travel trailer until this all gets put back together! Anyone else have an eventful weekend?

well, i think you had a very busy weekend and rewarding weekend, it's better than me, spending time doing nothing and wasting my time thinking about something which is impossible to happen, i wish i had a very meaningful day and i started to learn some japanese over the weekend and i think it would reward me.

Hey there, I would have much preferred a relaxing weekend after working my butt off moving to a new office last week. I came back to work exhausted, just like I left Friday :(

Dear friend, I think you had enough events for all of us. And you can keep them. I hope you like your new office, and new appliances, once they have all needed parts. The appliance store owes you money for not doing the agreed upon work. Service just does not seem to exist anymore. Maybe they thought you had an old plug from your old stove to use, but if the stove was old enough to need replacing, chances are the cord needed it as well, so I guess that is a good safety thing to do. I wish you well, and know that when you look back on it, these things will be okay. Better week next week.

Gerty, I sure do hope this week is much smoother. I think it will take the first part of the week to get back to normal. We got the waterbed mattress out yesterday so I have the frame drying. We will be shopping for new mattress set this week...yay! Next will get a new bed :)

Don't you just hate how one thing leads to another and most of the time that "another" is one big pain in the rear? LOL No, my weekend was spent at my father in laws house preparing for him to come home Tue. The boys worked on patching holes in the roof, adding handrails to the stars and making his house wheel chair accessible. My mother in law and I worked on cleaning the house from top to bottom. We will finish today and then I get to focus my attention on my own home. Something I am NOT looking to, btw LOL.

Our weekend went well. Our son and his girlfriend came over and took us to dinner. Our son and his girlfriend live in Fallen Neveda and have not seen his dad since his move in February. They took us out to dinner. What a treat. We had Mexican Food and went for a ride in a small town that is growing fast. The housing market is depressed but they keep buying homes. What a stupid idea. Whos going to wash the walls and floor when you get the new appliances installed. I guess that is you also. Good luck.

Don't you hate when that happens? It's always the weekends you PLAN to rest that you end up getting no rest. I got some good sleep this weekend, but still didn't veg-out like I planned. I'm thinking this summer is gonna be event filled, and then when fall or winter comes, I'm goint to just lie on the couch for a week to relax! Sorry for all the bad luck!

It seems that this is the story of my life, my plans never end up working out and I'm doing other things :( I feel for you and the waterbed situation, I've had that happen before but I've had a waterbed for 30 years and can't sleep on a regular mattress. LOL - wasn't on the list for yesterday but ended up finally filling my bed after the move - I have the softside with tubs (had it 10 years now) and love it.
