What do you think of manufacturers ceasing to stop making new plastic bags? Are you outraged by this? What will you do if they started to stop manufacturing plastic bags because it was endangering the environment? Would you be just as happy with bags that were non-plastic? Looking forward to some opinions on this contentious issue.

I would just use whatever they gave me in the stores- I think anything that we can do to save the environment is a plus- but really paper bags are from trees- so we are killing them to make those bags- I haven’t even heard of the government stopping the making of bags- so it’s news to me-

i get some paper and plastic, i remember as a kid they never used plastic. sometimes i get mad because the bagger puts like 2 things in a plastic bag! then i have to carry more in. i do reuse them for garbage bags in my small bathroom containers. i try to catch them before it gets to be too many!

I prefer using plastic bsgs as they are easier to carry things in than a paper bag but if it will help the environment by limiting them, I would accept that. Whatever we can do to help the environment, I am all for it. I can definitely make changes if needed. We need to do more to help protect our environment.

I would be delighted if we all went back to cloth or string bags, or boxes, or trays. It would help the environment, and my home, as I have way too many bags all of the time. One of the places I shop, you can have boxes for free, bring your own bags, or pay for their paper and plastic bags. Now if you think for a moment, you are there to save money, is it really wise to go ahead and buy bags? Yet some people do that. The plastic bags are the heavy, large, shopping style, not the flimsy plastic "t-shirt" style bags. Another store used to credit you a nickel for each bag you furnished, whether cloth or recycled plastic and paper, but to be honest, so few people did it, or do it, that I do not even know if they offer that anymore. If the bags were not produced, we would soon find a way to change our habits. Thanks for the thought provoking discussion.

I would be alright with it. I mean There were only paper bags to begin with anyhow before there were plastic bags.

Hi,friends in my point of view that is not good for health for using the plastic bags. They won't mix with the earth. After thousands of years also, they won't mix in the ground. We should use paper bags, strong paper bags.Everyone should think like this then only these can be banned...

I think it's a must. The plastic bags really have a bad effect on our planet. They can't be recycled. Maybe it'll be inconvenient for us, but at least we can do something good for the environment. It deserves it.
