You can donate blood, but you need to wait a certain amount of Time after recieving the tatoo, and for it to be completely healed up. - DNatureofDTrain

Each state is different. Texas is you have to wait a year to be able to donate. Some states just require it to be done at a licensed parlor. You need to check with your local Blood Donation site to find out the rules and regulations. I wouldn't say that tattoos are bad. That would just be one persons opinion.

I'm not 100% sure, but I now it's one of the questions they ask you when you go to donate blood. You can call the blood bank and see what they say. The reason why they have restrictions on this is because it's very hard to get those tatoo needles 100% clean and there's a higher risk of getting some kind of disease. It doesn't mean that you will catch a disease, it's just that you are at a higher risk. So, the other respondent is probably right when they said that you might have to wait a certain length of time after getting one before you can donate blood.
