For the last few days, the lower part of my back has been really hurting. I've been babysitting my cousin's children since I'm out of work for the summer and her youngest is two, I think I pulled or pinched something picking her up. So I'm asking does anyone have some really good home remedies to ease the pain? Should I use heat or ice? I want to try to sleep on the floor tonight because it seems when I wake up in the morning it's even worse. I don't know, help, please.

Sometimes I will have a back pain, too. Having a massage is helpful for me. I feel very relaxed after that. It's a good way, because you don't have to take the medicine and you feel so comfortable to this treatment.

Thank you. I'm trying not to take anything because aspirin and tylenol upset my stomach and I'm wondering which is the worse of the two. A massage sounds really good right now.

I give you very simple exercise: sleep on a hard bed down and keep legs on a chair/sofa up, I hope you will get a little relief.

thank you very much. I'm thinking about sleeping on the floor tonight, at least for as long as I can handle it.

hello mejluvya i am really very sorry to hear about your backache.but don't worry here i give you a tip and i hope it will make wonders to you. the best position for relief when your back hurts is to lie on your back on the floor with pillows under your knees , with your hips and knees bent and your feet on a chair, or just with your hips and knees bent.this takes the pressure and weight off your back.you may need 1-2 days of this sort of rest for a hurt back.resting longer than this can cause your muscles to weaken, which can slow your recovery.even if it hurts work around for a few minutes every hour. even heating pads can help to relax painful muscle spasms.use eat for 20-30 mins at a time.ice packs and massages may also give relief. try out that best suits you and i wish you get over it soon.

Thank you very much. I do have a heating pad and I was thinking about using that tonight. I am going to try to lay the way you suggested in a few minutes as soon as I get off the computer.

Stretching always works for me. I will lie flat on the floor or bed (legs and arms flat against floor), bend one leg and gently pull it toward your chest. You will feel a pulling sensation in your leg. Then after holding this position for a few seconds, I will take the opposite arm and gently pull that same leg toward the opposite side of my body. I then do the same thing with the other leg. This really helps with your lower back. Mari Winsor also has a back series of Pilates that I will occasionally do. It helps with your whole back and also your neck. Some of the stretches I mentioned on here are in her Pilates back series.

Thank you very much for the advice. I will try that exercise. I think that I may have just pulled something.
