I do both. I sell my hand made ceramic pieces, vintage toys, and scrapbooking supplies on ebay under the name sweetdesigninc. I like ebay despite its many problems. I also sell on other sites and I have my own website as well.
so do you sell, buy or both?

I've been selling and buying on eBay for years, and I've only had 2 problems (both times as buyer). One was resolved in my favor and the other I got scammed on. I usually buy my cosmetics (Clinique) on eBay and really save a lot of money by getting them through eBay. I used to sell beanie babies on eBay, but I stopped doing that in 2005. I also used to trade them on several other sites that have now closed down. So, I have hundred of them just sitting here. It's a shame that no one wants to buy them any more, as I have quite a lot of money invested in many of them (country exclusives, etc.).

Yeah beanie babies was one of the first really hot items on ebay. It is a shame that some things grow cold. It is sometimes very hard to find a niche at ebay cause it runs so hot and cold. It is especially hard with what I have to offer...ceramics, ready to paint ceramics and scrapbooking stuff and vintage toys.

I have heard about EBay for a long time but never make up the mind to do some on line buying or selling. The reasons are I have not only heard lots of positive comments but also negative ones. So I am still hesitating to become an EBay buyer or seller yet. LOL

There are pros and cons about it. For the most part I have had a positive experience in the last 5 years I have been doing it (3 years with old ID 2 years on my new ID I switched ID's when I moved to FL). I had one seller resell my stuff after I had paid for it and I was so mad but he did give my money back though.

I'm not a buyer or seller on ebay. The fees are to high for me to sell on the site. Many years ago, I made one purchase, which didn't arrive in good condition, so no plans to shop there again.

I do both also- I have sold things I just didn't want anymore- nothing I made- but I could- I never thought about selling the crafts I make- I buy alot through e-bay- I could spend hours on the site! It's addicting!

Give it a try you might be surprised. I have been selling my ceramics on there for a few months. I had a two month long dry spell where nothing would sell it is starting to pick up again for me. I hope it continues to pick up.

I have bought a few things on ebay but it was fairly long ago. Some of them the postage and handling was as much as the price of the item. I have thought about selling some stuff but have never learned how to do it and now I've heard that the fees charged to the seller have gone up significantly. So I'm not sure it would be worth trying to sell the type stuff I was thinking about selling because of that and because some of it is fragile and would require expensive shipping and handling that a buyer might not be willing to pay.
