sherlock holmes....is he real??

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created by Arthur Conen Doyle (not sure of the spelling of his middle name). So, they are just stories. Now, Mr. Doyle might have had some experience with Scotland Yard to make the stories seem a little more real. I'm not sure because I know so little about him.
