I have a child (boy) age six months+ and yesterday we just discovered that something is wrong with his head: there is some kind of swell between his skull bone and the skull skin on the left rear side of his head. when we touch this area it feels like there is some kind of liquid or air traped in there, and that gives the impression of the swell. please see what information you have about this.

It could be that he has the same things as my boys. Everytime they get bitten by an insect they get a huge swelling on the site. On their head is really bad but it really does go away in time. Oddly enough it doesn't seem to itch them....

yes I second that, but as you said you have boys (may God save and bless them all) and I have a boy and he is the first in my long journy for the dozen, so we are learning boys issues.!LOL thanks for your kind response.

Has he hit his head recently? Does the spot seem to hurt him when pressure is applied? When you took him to the Dr what tests did they perform?

thanks a lot for everybody here: this is to let you all know that my kid is very healthy and has recovered from that "thing", it seemed that it was fluid and has gone away now...so thanks for taking the time to respond to me, although I'm so late to update you, for that I'm sorry and thanks again.

swells are normal i think they appear due to some hormonal imbalances better u go for a full MRI scan so that u will come to know the condition of that exactly and more over i think these are harmless.they are called nodules. try to consult doctors who are aware of this things even u can get info via net going through some medical info sites
