Hi to all my friends! I'm sorry if I wasn't around much lately. And I wasn't able to reply to all of your Pm's. So I decided to finally post this.~lol...
As of now, I'm experiencing a great new chapter in my life. I'd already graduated in year 2000 with a Bachelor of Science major in Botany. And now, after 7 long tough years, I'm back to college.~lol
Yup, I'm studying again, at 28, lol... I'm taking up my "third" course actually, because I had some units in Bachelor in Education as well, which is in the completion process too. And now, I'm taking up a Bachelor of Science major in Pharmacy.
My classes started last June. And since then, I had less time for Mylot. I was intimidated at first because my classmates were much younger than me.~lol They are mostly around 17 y/o. And adding as well, the pressure of expectation, from parents, professors, fellow students... because I'm a second courser and older,~lol is quite great too.
So it was a tough beginning. I even got sick 1 week before my classes started...~lol
But, happily, I made good friends at once. They welcomed and supported me. And also guided me around the campus and the processes. It's great. And funnily, believe it or not, they thought I was only 19 y/o...lol..It's so funny but yet refreshing.
I'm doing well now. But I spend most of my free time in the library for advance reading and studying. And my travel going to school takes around 3 hrs with traffic and 2 hours without. So it's very tiring and time consuming.
And my daughter is going to school too for her first time. So usually, when I get home, that's the time to help her for her homework. So...lol..my time for mylot is very very limited. But I read all your discussions, comments and Pm's. And I miss you all.....
And I'm thankful for all the heart warming encouraging supporting messages and comments you sent me. In your own special way, you helped me a lot. Thank you!
And also thank you for the advices and suggestions. They really helped me a lot. I wish you all more and more blessings. And keep up all your good works and deeds!!

Congradulations and thank you so much for posting this. I think you are very wise to do what you're doing. You really need to do these things when you're young. Once you're done college I expect you'll make good money and do well for yourself !!! You really are a true friend checking in on all of us at myLot. Keep up the good work !!! You know you look good when you're 28 and guessed at 19 wow.

Hello aphroditei. Glad to hear from you again. I took Pharmacy for a year before shifting to Dentistry. Pharmacy sure is no piece of chicken course. There will be a lot of calculations involved there.
I'm glad to hear that you are beginning to adjust to College life again. Understand though that age shouldn't be a factor to stop us from pursuing any course we like. I have a friend who is over 30 already and are currently continuing her unfinished course. :)

That’s great news, and your post kind of rekindled a wish of mine, long buried under heaps of practical everyday responsibility. When I was in college, I hated studies and hanged out with the gang and waited to graduate, so that I could take my first steps to get a job, become ADULT you know. 14yrs down the line, I still wish I could study further and if possible, I would love to join college to do my masters. Theoretically its possible of course, but I just don’t have the time anymore. Anyway, good to know that someone somewhere is living my dream and I do believe it would be great fun for mother and daughter to study together! i am glad that you are doing great with your studies and that yur daughter has joined school as well. its a great feeling to be going to schools , both of you together. pharmacy has a good deal of prospect, its a in thing now and i am sure you wull get placement before graduating.
just take care of your health and do rea through the PMs and comments. we are missing you a lot.

Hi Gha! I missed you too a lot. It's a surprise too for me that you are a Phd in botany. Wow! I really admire you. I've never thought to pursue to a Phd for I think I had too much of taxonomy already whirling in my head..lol..and not to forget the endless scientific names..lol..but I had a lot of fun taking up Botany. And I learned a lot.
Now, it's another challenge for my Pharmacy course this time. More on chemistry and formulas..lol... And unfortunately, and luckily too..lol..I'm separated as of now. It's been years already. And Happily, my daughter and I, are both doing well in school..lol..It's very time consuming...but it's great...I hope to hear from you soon Gha! And always take care too..! (^^,)

Hi Sweet Hoghoney! My dear friend, I'm so sorry for not visiting your site much. I've been so busy lately. It's just now I got to catch up a bit, because my prelims exams are finished.
But starting next week, lol, I have to study more for midterms. I even volunteered to have my report on Monday. And yet, I'm still on the net...Lol.
I'm sorry too if I didn't left messages lately on your shoutbox. Sometimes I just log in and then take a round at mylot and I log out...lol...I was avoiding to stay too long, because once I get to type one message, and then it leads to a comment and then, I loose track of time and then lol...You know what happens next...lol...

I am sorry that you got sick but I am really glad and happy that you are fine now and more importantly that you took a very bold, courageous and a good decision to go back to college to supplement your Graduation. You are an inspiration for many people. I thought that I would let you know that I really appreciate your efforts and also your coming and sharing this wonderful story of yours with all of us. I would be really happy to see you around but of course at this point in time your studies and other responsibilities are much more important. You must know that you will be missed and many people would like to see you even though it's less often.

Yes, they are really going fine. And I'm so happy. I was quite restless at first but now I have adjusted, made a lot of new friends and it's so great. Only the travel is quite undesirable. But it's worth it. And I'm glad you are doing great too and that you have still time for Mylot. You're more inspiring than me..lol.. I hope I can do the same too soon. (^^,)

Yes, I joined Mylot quite in its prime..LOL..But I wasn't active much after my first year here. In fact, yes, I should have been finished with my second course now. But, I had to stop last year due to health issues. I had to undergo surgery. But hopefully, this coming June, I will get back. And finish my last year in college at the age of 30...LOL..Just kidding...It's not my first course...It will be weird if it was, but age is not a limit to education. Thank you for your response Bystander! I really appreciate! (^^,)

Yes, one of my classmates actually is in her late thirties. And it's her third degree..LoL...Our younger classmates, can't wait to graduate, so somehow they don't understand why we came back to be tortured..LOL..The only thing, I don't like, is, how some of our professors tend to get on high horses. I don't know if they feel threatened having degree holders as college students. I mean, sometimes, you won't to be polite, ask questions, and you end up having your professor ranting on you as if you were a freshman in college. I don't get it actually. I don't speak back. But I hope they could show some level of professionalism in dealing with second coursers. I mean, I don't want the red carpet or privileges. Just a little bit of manners maybe, or way of talking when they deal with us. Am I asking for too much? (^^,)

life is a continuing learning process, my friend. we may either acquire knowledge through formal means (school) or through our interaction with fellow human beings, even our surroundings and its denizens. so, there's not age cutoff in learning...

You are some kind of brainiac! Pharmacy is a very tough course and you sweat bullets during exams, especially for Organic and Inorganic Chem. I have always thought my botany course was a brainiac course because of all the scientific names and taxonomy I had to deal with.
