There are many medicines that are available over the counter and are also widely advertised, do you use them frequently or consult a doctor before taking any medicine? Beware - none of the medicines are totally free of side effects.

It is just way too expensive to go and consult with a doctor every time that I need meds for the famiy. I would be stone broke. So I go to my pharmacist and get advice there and try the meds she suggests. This is a cheaper way of getting better than always going to see a doctor. I have had much success this way and I only consult with a doctor if the symptoms persist. I do however try and go the natural way of healing rather than using medicines.

Well, i will be very honest with you, it is difficult to consult with our doctors on the phone as they are always busy seeing patients that they cannot talk to you and then sometimes do not even get the message to call you back. It is just way too much trouble phone the doctor and much easier to actually speak to the pharmicist.

Hi there. If our children are sick, we definetly take them to the doctor, no questions asked... But for ourselves depending on how we feel and how sick we think we are, then we may take a trip to the doctors or find a home remedy for it... Because now days, if you go to the doctor with a cough or thinking you may have the flu, they simply tell you to go home and rest, to take some panadol or paracetamol and thats it... They dont give medicines for this, therefore you get to waste $20 on being told to go home and rest... So we really make sure being going off to the local Doc...

Dear ebhattji, I am a diabetic patient. Of course I keep my sugar under control. I used to have EXECUTIVE CHECK UP EVERY YEAR DURING the month pf APRIL For the last 3 years they did not found anything abnormal. I am maintaining good health. I take medicines that is saridon or asprin once in a blue moon without consulting doctor otherwise in case I have any problem with my body, first I consult my family physician and will purchase medicines based on his prescription. I generally hate allopathy medicines. I used to try with home made medicines which I learned through books.
