Well I've finally got some cucumbers coming up now. Here's a sample of the Burpless variety I've got growing. This is huge. I can't remember ever having a cuke this long and thick. Hope it tastes good. the reason it's so huge is that it was buried under leaves & other ciukes to where I didn't see it for some time. Hahahahaha!! All that isn't ready to eat now from my garden is my sweet corn. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

You are so lucky, Bob. I have not put cuke seeds into the ground and I was right this year. It is raining a lot and where I live the cukes then just rot away on the stem. In warm weather they grow nicely. Sure, big cukes taste good, too. but the seeds are bigger.

15" Cuke - Cuke and tape measure
I've only got 4 stalks of corn growing. the wife started them from seeds from corn we ate last year i think. HAHAHA!! I love salads but only when I grow the stuff. In fall and winter I don't eat salads. Guess I'm just fussy when it comes to "rabbit food". HAHHahaha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Are these a special kind of cucumbers? I saw that they are best harvested between 6-8 inches or was this an accident because it was hidden? I like cucumbers with the vinegar and water, but prefer sugar in place of salt.. I also like them just plain, in fact unless I grow them myself,I don't eat the skin so I was pleased to see a couple of weeks ago when we started harvesting...

You have done well this year. I am surprised that all you have done in your more northern climate. Do you already have tomatoes ready to eat? Enjoy some of those for me.

I've a few baggies of green beans in the freezer actually. And by the blooms on my cukes I'll be having tons of them also. I have 4 cuke plants along side my house and they flourish there every year so far.

We have been eating cucs from the garden too. I have a different variety this year, they are shorter and fatter. I had the long burpless kind last year, we had one that grew 18 inches. I love the hook at the end, it gives me ideas, haha. Mine are planted close to the rasberries, they are doing real good. I have lots of green tomatoes, I am looking forward to the big boys getting red. I have dreams of a tomato sandwich. Happy eating from the garden.

Congratulations on your cucumbers! Burpless are great and have a good flavor. I find they don't give me indigestion like the others sometimes do! It sounds like you have a great garden growing. Send me some sweet corn!

Again I’m jealous- I’m patiently waiting for veggies to appear on all the beautiful plants of ours in the garden- We do have 2 squash starting and several tomatoes- but nothing red or big enough to eat- and no cukes or beans—We have gotten beets, carrots, and radishes out of the garden to eat- YUM!

I found one like that on my plant the other day. I pick my when the get a little smaller I find they last in the refrigator better if my hubby and I do not eat them soon. I will rate the photo after I submit this reply.

We don't have a garden this year because we just moved into a new house, but usually we love to garden and the only cucumbers we will plant are these burpless ones. They always give us plenty of cucumbers and you are right, they are huge! We love to slice up cucumbers and dip them into a wasabi/soy sauce mixture. Delicious!

That cucumber is realy large. You have ripe tomatos also. We here make salad with cucumber, tomato, onion, green chilly, veniger and salt. I like it very much. You are blessed with good yield from whatever you plant. Congratulations. Thank you.

Speaking of huge, that reminds me about what happened when I was a kid, mom was doing a compost pile and had dumped the potato peelings out there. We had some plants come up (maybe it was just one, I was young and that was long ago) anywho... must have been 15 or so big big potatoes from that one plant.
