It's Friday The 13th!!! Accckkkk!

Ok so today is Friday the 13th, are you afraid to go out today or afraid you will have bad luck?
Have you experienced any bad happenings on a previous Friday the 13th??
My husband was working on my car when we first got married. He had it jacked up with several jack stands under it. The car somehow fell on him. It was a freak accident. Luckily he had a friend there who was able to get him out and to the hospital. He only bruised ribs but he doesn't like to work on cars underneath any more.
What is your experience with Friday the 13th?

I don't have any F13 stories, I just like to see people get all paranoid about a date that a movie created lol. Before the series of Friday The 13th films, it was just an ordinary day. I had one neighbor in San Diego that wouldn't leave his house the entire day... even ordered lunch and dinner to be delivered. That's taking it a bit too far.

Fear of Friday the 13th is ancient. Fear of 13 is pretty common in many cultures, with one or two exceptions that actually consider it lucky. Some cultures, but not our 5 day work week culture, consider Friday to be unlucky, so if you put them both together they are considered to be very unlucky. I am like you, amused by superstitions.

I have no history of bad luck with Friday the 13th. In fact, today I have some contract work to do that will earn me a little money. My husband and I both have the day off and he has made me breakfast. I would say that I am a pretty lucky woman. I am glad that your hubby was okay. I know of someone else that happened to. Does he not work underneath, all of the time, or just on Friday the 13th?

I can't think of any bad experiences I've had on Friday the 13th. I'm not superstitious about the day. To me it's just another day.

i don't believe in friday the 13th. i dont think that this day brings bad luck to people. it's just in the peoples mind that this day will bring bad luck to them. but of course as we all know, it is still you who made your own destiny and if it will give you good or bad luck.

Luckily...Nice turn of phrase there.
Personally, I'm not one who suffers from triskadekaphobia (fear of the number 13); I try not to take superstitions seriously.
Still, consider this.
Apollo 13 lifted off from Cape Kennedy at 1313 local time, then entered the moon's gravity field on April 13.
It was the only lunar mission that failed and it almost cost the lives of the three astronauts aboard the spacecraft.

On my way back from work today, 3 different people pulled out in front of me nearly causing an accident. I gave them my you f'r look because I am too polite to send them the sign telling them that they are number 1 in my eyes.

Friday the 13th has always seemed like it was a lucky day for me. At least it has never been bad. I like it really well.

My dad had a car fall on him once too. He has worked on and under cars for nearly 50 years without any problems, but one incident like that and he gets really nervous about doing it anymore. Anyway, I don't believe in bad luck on Friday the 13th. I have never had bad luck on that day. It has always been just as lucky for me as any other day.

If yesterday was Friday the 13th then it should be the scariest Friday in our life.
This July's Friday the 13th was also a special day in Javanese Traditional Calendar. The day is named Jumat Legi [Friday Legi {leg-ghee)]. This Jumat Legi days often said that it is the day when ghost being more active, because of the moon constelation or something like that...
So this Friday the 13th many Javanese doing some ritual that offer food and drinks for their safety.

It's now the 14 but I had an OK on the 13 and do not believe in the superstitution of the 13th. I have never had a bad day on the 13th. I guess if I would have had a bad day on the 13th my view might change.

So far I have not really experienced anything bad with friday the 13th. Its usuall a normal day for me. And this recent friday the 13th, something good actually happened. First, we received our new mobile phones and second, our long overdue commission was finally released, halelujah for that:P

Believe it or not Friday 13th is actually lucky for me! I have had a few windfalls in the past on Friday 13th so it doesn't worry me in the slightest in fact I wish there were more in the year! I am not superstitious and to me it's just another day, so far today it's been ok, touch wood LOL!

Wow thats scarey stuff. Your husband is very lucky he was killed. So I think friday the 13th would be good luck for him.LOL Ive never had anything go wrong on that day. I dont believe in that sillyness. Its just something someone made up along time ago.LOL
