For Those Of You Who Asked....

And those of you who know I've been dieting, by cutting carbohydrates down to 50 grammes a day, I am here, with my update. As I told you in my previous discussion, I had lost seventeen pounds in two weeks, which was a massive loss, mainly water. Now, as predicted, I've slowed down some, and four weeks later, had lost a further ten pounds. So, my total weight loss now, is twenty seven pounds, thus far. I have to weigh again tomorrow, but my scales have gone a bit wonky, so I might have to buy new scales. Do you think it was the shock??? ha ha ha I'm quite happy with almost two stones in a month and a half. Now, I just have to keep it going. I'm enjoying the food I can eat. Ok, I miss my roast potatoes, and occasional chips, but if I want to reach my goal weight, they have no place in my diet. I hope those of you to whom I sent the diet sheets are getting on, or will get on well with them. Naturally, this particular diet doesn't suit everybody, but it is a pleasant one, and I'm sure it will help at least a little. Good luck, one and all!

Red meat is fine on this diet, Lakota, and you can have it with vegetables as a change from salad. Just leave out the potatoes, and weigh the veg that counts. Green vegetables can be taken in abundance and broccoli and cauliflower in particular, are very good for you healthwise. Brightest Blessings.xx

I'm feeling better than I have for a long time, Lakota because I'm eating a lot more salads, fresh fruit and veg, and seafood and I have my diet supplement and green tea. They all keep me going, so apart from the fact that I have a heap of stuff to do lately, which is tiring me somewhat... I'm feeling great. I'm sure the loss of weight helps, rather than hinders. By the way... I only shed another pound this week, if my scales are right... I've just weighed... so total loss in seven weeks is 28lbs. That's two stone, and I think I might celebrate a little for reaching that far... but NOT with chocolate! he he he Brightest Blessings. xx

Thank you Royal. Actually, I don't find it at all difficult, but I did have a cheat last week. I bought myself a piece of huss in batter and had it with salad and coleslaw, but that's the only cheat I've had... I don't really feel the need. I love huss though, even without the chips! :) I take a diet supplement juice, which keeps me healthy and also, green tea, which will help a lot too. Brightest Blessings.

Sounds like some kind of fish. It must be fish. Probably along the lines of a Cod fish. Well, that is my guess.

Yeah, when you stop smoking, it's very easy to suck mints and eat between meals to stop the craving. That's why I wanted herbs to help me. However, if you like salad stuff, in particular celery and cucumber, which are mainly water, you can always munch those when you feel a craving. Celery, with a little Primula Cream Cheese piped in the groove is very nice, especially the shrimp or chive flavours. That's the ones in the tube, before you go doing anything silly! :) I'll send you the sheet anyway... you more or less have to make your own meals up and you can make a chicken soup with a cauliflower and chicken stock cube, putting a little meat in if you prefer, and cottage pie is topped with cauliflower rather than potato, and I always grate a little cheese on top from my weekly allowance, to add more flavour and crisp it up some. Those are just two little side tips, and the sheet will be on its way, my friend. Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. xx

Well done Sweetheart - I am very, very proud of you! I do not eat a lot at the moment but I cannot exercise so that probably explains that! lol i admire your ability to avoid carbs - I cannot imagine not being able to eat bread, potatoes or pasta - they are my favourites! Well done and congratulations my friend! xxx

The diet doesn't say that you can't eat any of those products you mention, but you have to eat them in moderation as a pack of crisps, for instance, contains 3'C' units, and you can only take 10 in an one day. Potatoes, 2oz is 2 or 3 'C' units, so as you can see, they're best avoided where possible. Thank you, my friend, and Brightest Blessings. xx

I used this diet before, Kay and was successful the first time, so thought I'd try that one again. I like it too because I don't feel hungry whilst on it.

Yeah for you!! I am happy dancing! I lost 30 pounds last year when I started a job that involved a lot of walking. I gained about 10 of it back though when I got laid off. I was on a carb diet while pregnant and lost weight even while pregnant! Not a lot, but I was gaining weight from the pregnancy as well as losing my fat. I would love for you to send me the doc. when you can. I requested and when you can accept I will give you my e-mail. Thank you in advance!

Thank you Tammy. Yes I received your e-mail address in my PMs, and the sheet is on its way to you. You should have received it by now, in fact. Brightest Blessings.

Aww congratulations hun! You deserve all the praise in the world, so few people have it in them to keep going on such a diet, or any diet for that matter. Unfortunately i didn't need to really lose any weight, and myself i've lost 12 pounds , which happened pretty much over night one night and hasn't come back since. So keep doing this, you can do it and do it good, congrats, and i'm standing by you all the way.

That's strange, how you lost weight that way. Did you alter your diet or change your exercise in some way without realising that you had? Brightest Blessings and thank you for your input, my friend. x

I guess it depends what type of sausages you have in the hot dogs, and whether they're jumbo ones, or not! ha ha ha

Actually the only thing i know of that i changed at that point is i got really tired, so i started sleeping at different times than normal, though i get the same amount of sleep just get in and out at different times than before, that and my apatite has totally changed, but i don't think wanting hot dogs all the time will make you lose weight haha.

That's fabulous Darkwing - congratulations. Fancy never being able to have chips or roast potatoes again. I'm not as strong as you. I'm feeling good about the fact that by now I should be gaining weight again (like I have in the past 12 years) but I'm not. My weight is hovering at the moment so something is working. I'll continue with the lifestyle changes but I still need to exercise more...so hard when it's so cold and I get so stiff and sore and achy.
@Darkwing (21583)
21 Jul 07
Yes, it's not easy to exercise when it's cold. It warms you up whilst you're doing the exercise but you get so cold afterwards. How about a hot bath when you finish?

Wow... I don't know what I'd do without my bath, in the winter. It warms me up and relieves aches and pains. Agreed... it's always hard to start the exercising but once you get into a routine, the stiffness eases and you feel a lot better for it. Brightest Blessings.

Baths are out for winter I'm afraid. The water turns cold too quickly. :( It's starting the exercise that is hard...lol

Ooh Ooh can I get a copy of the diet sheet please?!? Congratulations on lose that much weight. I am slowly but surely but have slacken off a bit, need some motivation and reading your discussion has helped a little.
@Darkwing (21583)
16 Jul 07
I'm glad I've been able to motivate you, and yes, if you like to send your e-mail address to my PM box, then I'll send you the sheet. The reason I ask for your e-mail address is that I sent one in PM and it messed up and went all out of synch. It was very difficult to understand. So, I have it in Microsoft Word, and am just attaching them to the e-mails. If that suits you, then fine... I will send it to you. If you do decide to get underway with a diet, straight away, I wish you all the very best of luck with it. Persevere, and I'm sure you'll get there. Brightest Blessings.

That's just fine... I accepted you a moment ago, and look forward to receiving your address, so I can send you the sheet, and you can have a go at it. I sure hope it works for you... I don't see why it shouldn't at your age, as when I was younger, I really got my figure back with it, after having lost my way after having two kids. Good luck with it, and please keep me posted as to how you're getting along with it, huh? Brightest Blessings.
