Do you believe that being a single parent effects the way your child will grow up.

Yah, because family is always composed of couples and their children. But it really depends on the parent on how he/she will raise her/his child.

Yes, kids will grow up missing the other parent. They will grow up feeling they weren't loved by the other parent. Some rebel, some grow up great. It just really depends on the parent who is around. I'm a single mom and even if it's hard to let the kids visit with their dad once in a while, I want them to have the experience so I let them. If you're the parent without the kids, please be considerate and help out.

the child is going to wonder where the mom or dad is when it grows up

Yes it affects the child. Those affects could be positive of negative. If both parents being together is negative one parent needs to love their child more than they hate the other parent.

I have a two month old so I do not know how it affects kids as they grow up w/o the other parent but I believe it does not affect them because you have to teach your children about values and morals and also let them know why the other parent is not there! My mom grew up without her father and I do not see how it has affected her in any type of way...
