Major Errors in discussions & photos very annoying!

I just wrote, with some detail, a discussion of my holiday to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island.
I included a large photo too. I decided to preview, as photos have a habit of disappearing from discussions. The photo wasn't there, even though downloading the photo had been successful. So I hit the edit button, with the idea I would just try including the photo again.
The discussion as totally gone, so was the photo of course.
Instead I found this comment, in red:
"unable to post content. please modify your text to only include letters, numbers, and standard punctuation."
Whatever all that is supposed to mean, I don't know! I am way too frustrated to try this discussion, with or without the photo, again.
Sorry, but these major errors in My Lot are very offputting. And people are wondering why there are less & less discussions!

I'm waiting to reach the 500 mark and being able to copy and paste because I've lost some rather lengthy responds. But I wouldn't say that myLot is the culprit. Did you ever think that something interrupted your connection just when you were in a process of uploading? Perhaps not in the case you mention, but in many other cases like mine, this may be an explication. Those messages really are lost in the great cybertrash... forever.

Hello Jenny. This also happened to me countless of times. I remember once posting a really long response only to have it gotten nowhere. I was so annoyed with it. It is not easy to keep racking our brain to come up with some plausible, sensible response.
Again, it must be Mr. Glitch visiting our community. I can understand your sentiment regarding this matter as I was already numbed with it. I'm kind of laying low for now and have no desire to post anything at the moment.

Yep, you illustrate a perfect example of the glitches and barriers we find in our participate of this lowly paying site. It pays to type out your discussion if large on notepad and then transfer it. If it disappears you can transfer it again. I wish you luck in this since we are struggling to make the money that we once did when this site was a good one. Jury is out currently on this site.

Yes, I would have to copy out my discussions in future, especially if I am including a photo.
I agree completely that the jury is out on My Lot.
Yesterday I posted 38 responses, & only earned 28c.

I fully sympathize.You are not the only one that seems t be having trouble.I have been trouble and I have been noticing other people complaining about it too

hi I feel for you. I spent a lot of time on an answer to a discussiont and really cleaned it up then waited for the add tag line to come on and poof it never did just a blank space for me to again re post my answer. so I did it all over and got the tag line and all. went to the last discussion and lo and behold both answers popped up. lol

Sorry your having troubles also. I tried to put up a cake for somebody and my post disappeared. Its a shame when we work hard and the post doesn't go up. Take care and hope things look better quickly.

Hi Jenny,
I hope you had a great vacation. Yes I know what you mean, I have composed many discussions that have gone down this way. It makes you wonder where they actually end up....floating around in cyber space somewhere. :) It is funny how they just disappear. I still find myLot the best of the discussion forums though.

I haven't hd that many discussions disappear, so for the rare occassion of trying to use the edit button, this was very frustrating.

One time I had written a very lengthy discussion and wanted to preview it..Big mistake..I lost the whole thing. I was really bummed..Now I just post it. I am sorry this has happened and I am not sure what they are talking about.

Yes, the preview& then editing seems not to work at all. But I wanted to do this, so I could see if my photo had shown up.

I think it is about the way you write it. You might use a lot of punctuations or maybe you wrote it in all capital letters. Because one time when I'm making my post there is a warning that says: the word is prohibited to use in MyLot rephrase it. So what I did was change the word that I used in that post. That is the only time I was able to post it when I rephrase the indicated word.

I don't write in capital letters & my punctuation is good. There was no specific word warning. It is an error in editing with My Lot.
