Children don't really need deoderant until they start to have body odor, which usually starts developing as they approach puberty, due to changes in the body's chemestry. There have been some reports about certain chemicals in deoderant being linked to some health conditions, but I don't that's really been proven one way or the other. I would say this: if she wants to, if it makes her feel grown up, then I don't think it hurts anything. But I would't make her wear it if she doesn't want to. But by all means help her with it, and you might get her something like Tom's Natural deoderant to use. That does not have any aluminum in it.

I don't believe children need it at that age. I would not allow her to wear it because she sees her parents putting it on. There are chemicals in deodorant/antiperspirant that can cause a rash and allergies to her.

I didn't start wearing deodorant till I was 11 years old. Didn't really need it until then. But alot of kids are wearing it especially if they are into sports or physical activity like cheerleading or gymnastics or track stuff like that but then again there is the few that need it by the age of nine it just depends on your there bodies and how fast tehy start reaching puberty I guess. Teaching her to use it now is teaching her good hygeine taht she will need later on.

I started wearing it when I started junior high, thats when you start sweating more and becoming a young adult. Children though age 4 shouldn't be wearing it but hey every mother is different.. Not every mom is going to agree though. But she is your child and you should do what you think is best! Have a great day!

I don't think a child needs to wear deoderant until they are starting to have an offensive odor from their armpits.

I think when i was a young teen, probably around the time I started my period is when I started to use deodorant. I think 4 is a little young but not sure it would hurt anything.
