Do you have a system for marking best responses? Do you close out discussions in a certain time or do you let them run their course?
What happens if you get behind in responding to your discussions? do you still attempt to go back and choose a best response?
I'm behind on several discussions of my own and I'm having a hard time trying to catch them up. I think my responders deserve a response and for me to choose a best one. Your thoughts?

Sometimes I find myself far behind in resolving my discussions. Sometimes I also get far behind in commenting on the responses to my discussions. I do think that both of these things need to be done though, and I really am not trying to ignore anyone when I don't get to them right away. I hope that people will understand if their response goes unanswered for a while. I usually try to get around to them all eventually, although I am so far behind that sometimes I'm sure that people wonder about me when they get my comments to them about a response they made a couple of months ago to my discussion. Although I don't necessarily comment on every response, I do feel that in may cases I need to make a comment, and although it is sometimes hard to choose a best response, it should be chosen. One day maybe I will get mine caught up, but for now, I'm still way behind.

I can't believe that I've got ten pages still of unresolved discussions, bad wolfie bad! I did spend hours the other night trying to award best response because I have left them so long some are 7 months old! I do endeavour now to reward a best response within a week to give others a chance, rather than award the same day. Good interesting, informative responses always get my vote.

Yeah I don't get it, I started a serious discussion hoping to get response, not for the money, but because I needed advice, and no one responded.. As for the choosing the best response, that is a good idea, give it a week, you never know if someone comes along later with a cool idea..

No, I really don;t have a system. i do lik eto wait a week before i mark best response. But depending on how many discussions I have started. I may do them later..or even sooner than that. Espically if it seems to be getting alot of hits. I always but always go back and choose a best response.

Yes, I let them try to let the discussion die out, that can take a week or longer. Whenever it finally sets for a couple days without being responded to, that's when I know it's time.
Man it's hard to pick just one too. Sometimes it comes down to who posted the most. I mean they are all so good and each one with their own points and views. It's tough to make that choice. But like someone else said, it's better to make one person happy than none.

No..I dont follow any particular system in marking the Best reponses. I do read all the responses I get for the Discussions I start. When I feel that a particular response is good, then I directly go and mark it as the best response. Thats it.
Still there are many of my discussion for which I have not yet marked the best response, because I still didnt get a response I liked the most and/or more appropriate to the discussion topic.

Heklo there..I do have a system..usually the day before the end of the month i go threw all of them and give them out..and sometimes its hard because i go threw every single answer i get and its hard to decide who gets it..because so many times i wanted to give more than one out on many occasions..than theer are the ones that only get like one or 2 reposnses in 2 weeks..then i will just give it out earlier..less for me to do end of month:)

I have, in the past, let the discussions all get away from me. I do not comment on every response, but I do rate every response, if I can. Every once in awhile there is a response that just does not make any sense. I rate best response usually when the discussion quits attracting attention. I also will go through at the end of the month and catch up anything else that needs done. I do not even think about starting discussions if I am seriously behind on rating.

I just write to the best of my ability, and check the "best responses" tab every couple of days to see what happens. I am not out for all of them to be "best" because "best" is in the eye of the beholder. I just do MY best and let life happen.

Don't worry about getting behind in things....I'm in a bit of a frenzy myself trying to catch up and give replies to responses people have left on my discussions....as far as best responses...I sometimes wish that one could give more than just one...have you ever had that problem where maybe there will be more than one response that is just spectacular..I have..I usually will wait a few days to a week before making any decision on best response though
