In Stevens County, Washington, Carol DeLeon got 6 years for the death of her adopted son, Tyler DeLeon. She got an alfred plea deal where she pleads guilty without admitting her guilt. An alfred just means she knows she'll probably be found guilty. Little Tyler died on his 7th birthday, weighing 28 pounds. He was dehydrated and very small for his age. That was 2 years ago. She evidently one other kid, named Steven, but foster care had removed him and placed him somewhere else. Carol DeLeon was known to abusive and negligent by the foster system in Washington State but still they kept placing kids with her. I think this woman should have gotten at least life without parole and Washington State's foster care system should also be held accountable.

I agree she go off very light. I also think the the foster care system needs to be reworked. Unfortunatily most foster care workers are over worked and not able to check on the children under their care as much as they should. They also don't have enough families to place children with. It is a sad situation that needs to be fixed. The children being placed need a lot of help or they wouldn't have been taking away from their families to begin with.
