What do you do when you are refused a restraining order?

We just tried to get a restraining order against a relative and guess what the judge decide that we did not have enough reason to get a warrant. Well our oldest is dead, and he was found in the way this person said he would be found, they said they would make it look like an accident. And they also made threats on my other children and I do not have enough reason to get a restraining order???? I do not understand this at all. Does anyone know what I can do, I think something is fishy about all this. It makes no sense whatsoever to me.

If you children are minors, you do have enough. You may need to have a lawyer at this point to get the warrant. However if your children are adults, they themselves need to file for one. I don't understand your situation for lack of details, but I haven't heard of people being denied a restraining warrant very often. Terroristic threatening is a serious offense and they will issue one, in a heart beat for it.

My children are all minors and I could not get a restraining order at all, this makes no sense, I wanted just something so that if anything happens at all that the police can go arrest the ones making threats. And it looks to me like I should of gotten this restraining order. This is something I do not understand at all.

I don't understand why you can't get a restraining order. I was advised to get one for someone making numerous harrassing phone calls. I would get a lawyer for the safety of my other children. So sorry to hear about your oldest.

I do have a lawyer he did not think that I would be denied and this is something that you don't normally have to have a lawyer go to court with you on. I mean it is not like I am suing or anything, all I wanted was something saying that this person was to stay away from my dc at all times. And the court refused, makes no sense whatsoever..
