Would you date someone who has done time in prison? Why or why not?

It would truley depend what there crime was, and how long there term was. But I think for the most part I would not want to date someone who went to prison. Because it could show a history of violence, plus I heard that prison changes people.

I agree with most of the other people here. It would totally depend on why they did prison time. If a person went to prison for tax evasion or something like that it is totally different than if they were a child molester.

Nope, not I. The man earned his way in there that to me is a warning sign to stay away. I had guys hit on me when I was single and when I asked them "So tell me about your life" and prison was mixed in there, that was my cue to walk away. I figured someone else can take a chance on him, not me though.

Good grief NO I would not. It's bad enough being with men who have not as much as had a speeding ticket, this ol' gal is dumb married twice but I'm still not totally off my rocker. LOL Take care

I probably generally wouldn't do it, but if I liked the person I wouldn't necessarily let that be my deciding factor for not being with them. It depends on the crime I guess. Actually, I have a friend who went to jail for 6 years for armed robbery. He is one of the nicest guys I know. He told me that jail was a good thing for him, and he wouldn't be the person he was today if it wasn't for it.

Well, it really really depends on the person and why they did time in prison. I know this one woman who went to prison for one night because she pushed a shopping cart at another woman's car (they almost got into a quarrel/fight) and she refused to go to court yada yada. So, there are some little things that people go to prison for. If the man went to prison for killing someone....... now it would truly depend on him and what his current state is. If he was someone I knew for a long while and I could trust him, I guess I would.... some people do change for the good. Also, another thing I'd consider is do I truly love him enough to even except the fact that it will be difficult for us to have a good income! When a person goes to prison, it's written and it takes a long while to get a job. Like that woman that went to prison for one night, she couldn't get a job for 7 years. She didn't kill or harm anyone! But imagine that! So..... it really depends on the person and what they did.... kinda complicated...

Gee...I don't think I would. Maybe it would depend on what the crime was, and whether they have truly repented or not, but still, probably not. If somebody did a serious crime, there's no way I'd ever date them. (I can't understand these women who flock to the mass murderers and think they're reformed.) There ARE instances that we hear of everyday where somebody has been falsely imprisioned, and the DNA evidence clears them sometimes years later, I think that would be a different case maybe (and that would be an awfully big 'maybe'.)

Not really. I mean maybe, it depends on what he went to prison for exactly and if it isn't murder or stealing than maybe I would go out with him.

Probably not. First off, if I am ever in a position to date again, I will either have been widowed by natural causes, or have murdered my husband, LOL. I am old enough not to take those kinds of chances with dating someone who has done time. I have seen too many times that the situation turns out very sad, and bitter.

Yes I would! As long as she is pretty and sexy and soft and has a nice voice I would date a babe that got out of prison.

I think it would depend on what they did. It shouldn't, probably, but it would. And it would probably depend on why they did it, too. Although, they could lie about it. But, anyone can lie to you at any time.
