I don't mind having lice in my hair provided I have enough hair to shelter them. You can count the number of hairs on my scalp.

For 2 years in elementary school my daughter caught it each time there was an outbreak. It was awful, she had such long hair & getting rid of them took so much work. But we found the chemicals didn't help & often caused reactions for her. A lice comb like the "Lice Meister" comb made all the difference. You would slick the hair down with a conditioner & work the comb through slowly, cleaning the teeth as you go. It's very labor intensive if you have long hair, but it works.

No, I had the problem when i was achild, but now ,no.I tthink school going children get them from each other's head,my daughter too got them when she was in her kg's, but now as she is growing up,i told her to stay away from those who have them and now she is also not having them, it becomes very problematic and all the time there is one work to see if there are any.

No, I don't have yet.But my mom tells me that keeping your hair dry and clean may help you. People around me do these things when they suffer from lice.

They are not as common here as some places, and people really look down on you if you get them, but it is no big deal. There are expensive poisons to buy at the stores, but what works just as well is to put mayonaise or olive oil on your hair, wrap it and let it stay for two hours. After that, use a lice comb, a very fine toothed comb, to comb through all of your hair. Wash it as usual, then put on conditioner, and use the lice comb again. Rinse out the conditioner. Use the conditioner and comb out your hair every night for two weeks and you will have broken the life cycle in your hair. You also need to vacuum thoroughly, even furniture wash all bedding, pillows, and stuffed toys. Anything that cannot be washed needs to be put in a plastic bag in the sun for two weeks. Good luck. Oh, and yes, I have had lice, twice. Caught them once from adult mentally handicapped, and another time from my neice.

hello coolcat...I have never had lice myself but my children did when they were younger..I had to get something from the doctor one time, but they have a medication called "Rid" and it will get rid of lice...Probably you have not got rid of the eggs..I shampooed my daughters hair then I took a fine tooth come and combed through her hair and i would come through and wipe the comb on a white towel, and you can see what is coming out that way.Sometimes you might have to do it twice..Also you need to change your bed sheets and anything you have put your head on...You are probaly getting them from someone you are hanging out with,if you happen to see them on someone,be sure and tell them so they can rid themselves of them.

I have had them too but I get rid of it doing nothing, I guess I'm just lucky. I can be infected to often because all the kids we're teaching in the depressed areas were lice infected and most of the time I looked into their hairs and picked them myself..sometimes I used fine comb.. It's so common here, specially in the urban poor areas..I can spend a whole day picking lice and combing a kids hair and yet, they will still have it.

Lice don't like my hair eversince I was a child I never had a chance to have them. Once I did put a mother lice on my hair and I got it through my child neighbor I'm just curious about it and is so itchy but I can easy get rid of them I just used a very fine comb every now and then so that it will go with the comb and rid of it.My two daughters have a lice too I just used these kind of comb everyday after they took a bath and after a week the lice where gone.

I have never had lice to be honest. But are you sure that it is lice and not something else? So maybe you're treating it with the wrong sort of treatment? I'd try these websites for information and help: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/headlice.html http://www.headlice.org/ http://children.webmd.com/tc/Lice-Topic-Overview Plus, if you haven't ... and I'd hope you have... go to the doctors and try to make sure it is lice and get some help. I can't imagine having constant lice would be good for your social life.

You can use a insect repellant chalk or kerosene gas for at least five minutes in your hair and rinse it with a shampoo if not yet effective let your relatives remove it manually for one day session

My daughter came home from school one day, and her teacher send an note home saying she had lice. I looked through her hair, and the nurse couldn't tell the difference between head lice and fleas. I had to go to school the next day to tell them that she didn't have lice it was fleas. Try to keep away from people for a while and she if they come back. keep your hair up as much as possible. Good Luck
