Lemonade Detox Diet

I am wondering if anyone here has tried any detox diets, specifically the Lemonade Diet? You drink a mixture of water/lemon/maple syrup/cayenne pepper for at least 10 days. I am thinking about trying it, not to lose weight, but mostly out of curiosity and to see if my body feels any different/better after. I have heard a lot of stories about it, some good, some bad. Have you heard of it? Have you tried it? Thanks.

I tried it. First of all you have to have organic lemonade which is very expensive. I mixed up the first drink and almost puked!!! I was really excited to try it, but then realized I coudn't even get the first glass down. Good luck if you can stomach it.

Well, I would squeeze the lemon juice myself, but I did realize just now how expensive it would be to buy 50 lemons and all the syrup necessary. lol

I haven't tried it but I heard it works in terms of cleansing your body of toxins. I wonder if that is the one that Beyonce did when she was filming Dreamgirls?!?

I have not heard of this. It sounds really disgusting and unhealthy to me. Wheres the vitamins, and the nutrients to help the human body thrive daily in this mixture? Where did you hear about this nasty diet anyhow? I would never try something this drastic. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That's why it is only 10 days. I don't think I would make it that long, lol, but I have heard a lot of good things about it.

I was excited to try it, so I went and bought the organic lemonade, maple syrup and cayenne pepper...I drank half of the first glass and poured the rest out. I poured the lemonade out, my son used the maple syrup on pancakes and the cayenne pepper was used in chili. It was one of the worst thing I have tried. Good luck to you if you try it, although I wouldn't recommend it. Let us know if you do try it and how it works for you. =)

haha yeah, it sounds like it tastes pretty bad. I was thinking there was only a little bit of cayenne pepper in the lemonade, so it might not taste bad, but now I have heard it's really gross. I probably won't be trying it anytime soon because of how expensive it would be.

Cayenne pepper? So the trick is to kill your taste buds until you never want to eat again. Sounds like a bad idea all around. First of all, the detox part of it may be legit. We eat a bunch of garbage most of the time, adn it's good to get toxins out of your body. but you can do with with a good, professional massage too! Secondly, your body NEEDS nutrients! lemonade, maple sugar and pepper? You are getting NOTHING but sugar. UGH. Do you realize how awful you will feel when your body is so empty? No protein? No carbs? You'll have NO energy, you won't sleep well. I can't possibly believe in any of these detox diets. They put your body into starvation mode - which makes it REALLY HARD to lose weight. I can't imagine any doctor or nutritionist would every have anything good to say about this diet!

Well, this is what I have heard... you feel very tired the first couple days, but then after that you feel energized. You are still taking in 1200 calories a day, so you are not exactly in starvation mode, but you aren't getting many nutrients, so I am not sure how that affects you. It is easy to lose weight with this detox, but of course you will gain it back plus more after. Some nutritionists recommend the diet, but it can help with a lot of health problems. It isn't recommended as a weight loss diet at all.

No, never heard of it and I can't do it at all, it would kill my ulcers for sure. By the sound of it, if you don't have any, you will by the time that diet is over. :o(

I could probably handle the lemonade/ water & maple srup combination. I seriously doubt thsat I could tolerate the addition of cayenne perpper. Althoigh I like cayenne pepper, this mixture would be difficult to drink. No doubt it would case a diarhea type action, hence, weight loss.

I have never heard of this diet. Are you makeing this mixture yourself? I would have to wonder about the cayenne pepper. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredience and if not give it a try. You never know until you give it a try. I don't think this is a diet that I would be interested in because of the cayenne pepper. I like the fact that it is all natural though. I also do not think lemonade all the time is a good thing. It is a lot of acid going into your body. I find that when I eat or drink an over amount of acid foods or drink I get cold sours. This is one way the body releases acids through the body. You may also break out in other ways. I think you should really check this diet out and maybe have a talk with your doctor just to be on the safe side.

There's a possibility that I will try this one day. I have never tried this combination but I did try a lot of things to detoxify. One is taking apple cider vinegar with honey first thing in the morning and is best taken without any food in the stomach yet. There are lots of combination you can think of that will not only get rid of toxins in your body but will also act as immune boosters. The trick is don't overdo it at first. Try to orient your system by taking a little dose each day and try to add some more in the succeeding days. If you can't really stomach it, and still you want to benefit out of drinking this health tonic, I suggest that you pinch your nose while downing the concoction.

I haven't heard of it. I've read a lot of Detox diets in the magazines, I was thinking of trying them but a bit hesitant. Since I'm working and I have ulcers it's not advisable for me not to eat. The Lemonade Diet sounds interesting but i think i would pass. The lemon is too acidic for my tummy to tolerate, I would be feeling sick. But if you're going to trying it, pls do keep us posted.. *wink*. Anyway, thanks for sharing the info. Take care. cheers! :D

i have heard about it, and i would like to try it but i KNOW i can't stomach such a gross combo! I have a really weak stomach and it's not going to happen! But a woman i worked with has done it multiple times and every time she loses a lot of weight and she says she doesn't feel drained or anything..... but her reminder is to STAY VERY CLOSE TO A BATHROOM during your 1st round! :)

I'm not fond of any kind of pepper, do like maple syrup though. I'm not sure if I really need to Detox although could do with a suitable diet, but never found one that works for me.

I tried this detox and it worked really well! I used bottled lemon juice though. But it wasn't too bad and I lost heaps of weight! You kind of need to be disciplined but you get used to it very fast! How did you go with it?
