Multi-tasking... do you like doing two or more things at the same time?

I developed that kind of habit at home.. when i had no office job before, i was considered as "the maid" at home..lolz.. i do the cooking, the sweeping, and the washing of dishes at the same time! Can you believe that?? well, it will be lucky for my brothers and sister if my cooking doesn't get burnt or something.. hehe.. I also recalled that i already was a multi-tasker since i was in college.. i study my lessons while watching television or listening to music..i was used to it and i can't absorb my lessons well if i study without turning on the TV or Radio.. :-) Because of that training i had at home, I was able to make it good in my office job.. i typed in the computer while answering the phone.. or do reports while doing mylot, lolz.. believe me, i'm good and effective at this multi-tasking thing. Are you a multi-tasker?

Hi there. Multi-tasking is a natural thing for most women... Personally speaking, I can carry a phone with me, wash and dry dishes as well as cook and clean after myself... Actually today, I hung out the first load of washing, cleaned and vacummed the house, while I waited for the second load of washing, hung that out and weeded 2 gardens, while talking to my husband on our hand held phone, then decided to wash one of our cars, and this only minor multi-tasking compared to other things I have done within 1-2 hours of less lol...

Hi there. I also think woman are more specific and efficient when it comes to multi-tasking... Men cannot do what a woman can accomplish in under 1-2 hours... Thats a fact, and if they try, most will definetly miss or overlook something really important and take the short cuts lol, Im only going on experience from when I had, one of my brothers live us, at one time, awhile ago, hes now probably changed, I wonder lol...

I usually multi-task, mostly because I have a short attention span. But at work, I stay focussed on one task until it's done, and move onto the next. Otherwise I'd spend all day juggling different things, and stuff would get missed or not completely finished.

hi cutepenguin.. i can see you have a strategy at work! that's nice to know.. multi-tasking isn't really good or bad.. i think it just depends on the output we get from doing it..

Oh yes I am lol. I have always been one for getting more bang for my time. So I don't just do one thing at once. Like my time here at mylot, I am answering and replying while eating and/or drinking coffee. When I finish I leave to get other things done, but only return when I am taking a break to eat or drink coffee again. I can't just set here and not have something else to do or get done.

Yes i love doing two things sometimes more things at a time. I usually do that at home too.Just like baby setting, doing household chores. I do cooking, laundrey manaually, cleaning the house and a lot more. Sometimes it depends on the time i am consuming for that certain work. There's nothing wrong about it as lomg as you can afford to do them together. I can recall all the things when i give birth thru ceasarian, i wash my baby's clothes at the sam time nursing her,i can cook too while nursig her. It is just upon us whether we can do it or not. ....BUt I really do that..............

yeah Moms really are multi-taskers i guess.. See, even you who gave birth thru a ceasarian operation still can manage to take care all of the baby's needs at the same time! Whew, supermom! :-)

sometimes, i get stressed doing it really.. if i can't handle it anymore, i stop doing it.. and start to focus on one task at a time.

When it comes to important things I am far from being a multi-tasker.I can do only one thing at a time. But,when the job is kind of mundane I can multi-task myself and complete it easily, though it takes a bit of planning beforehand.I am one of those guys who has to plan before execution and hate planning something in the middle of a task.

Yep, as long as you don't use two of your senses at the same time. I usually do the same as yours. I can listen to music while reading or doing scrapbook. I also encode things in the computer while talking over the phone. It's funny sometimes because my friends get amazed everytime am doing two tasks at the same time.

Yeah, in the office.. i also sometimes do two or three different types of report all at the same time.. with more than reports, i probably would get nuts in doing them at the same time! lolz.. all i can afford i think is until three different works at the same time.. :-)

I have always been a multi-tasker. I can't seem to keep my mind on just one thing at a time, and jump from one thing to another, so even if I tried to do just one thing at a time I don't think that I could do it.

I think its okay to do multi-tasking as long as you finish all the works and have effectively done them.. Its better coz you save time in doing multiple tasks at the same time.. :-)

I think people have been multi-tasking for years without actually thinking about it, because it has become part of everyday life. Some common examples: (1) You watch TV, while at the same time munching on your potato chips and having a conversation with your family (2) You sit on your "throne" in the toilet doing your thing, and reading a magazine while going about your business (3) While you are shopping around town, your cellphone rings and you answer it; while talking, you are giving instructions to try and resolve a problem at home. What's worse is at work, your boss nowadays expects you to multi-task. You are expected to work on multiple projects at the same time, service your customer, read and answer emails, discuss issues, give suggestions, compile a report, handle some work problems with subordinates, create a presentation, attend meetings, etc. etc. In this modern world of ours, we'll all likely develop into superworkers, supermoms and superdads.

yeah, isn't that stressful??? i can do multi-tasking as long as i can manage and as long as i am still effective in doing all the jobs.. but if more workload are demanded of me at the same time.. whoah, i'll be burnt out!lolz.

I think multi-tasking is ok but you can do something wrong. Sometimes I can't manage all of the tasks and I just do it one by one...

Yes, other people or most of them really prefer to do one thing at at time. If you can't focus on many work at the same time, the tendency really is not be able to finish any work.. lol.. and maybe, even if you finish all the work at the same time.. the quality of your output are not so good. :-)

that is a definite yes. i do a lot of things and i want to do them in the shortest amount of time possible. so i will definitely try to put things together or do them in a certain order together so that i can finish them faster and get on with all the other things in my life.

I personally do not like multi-tasking but was train to do that. I used to handle multiple projects and need to switch from one to another sometimes when things don't turn out well. I also do typing and speaking to clients on the phone before.

I too watch TV while reading. During my Grad. exams i stayed at my Uncles house. Since that was after a long lapse i visited my uncles house that too just for exam, my uncle was talking to me about my family through out the day and i decided its quiet impossible for him to shut his mouth and started reading listening to his speech. I think its a great capability gifted by god, as I score also the first rank in my class.
