are you a social animal or a lone wolf?

Although sometimes I go out, I consider myself as a lone wolf because I enjoy hanging out alone in the house, watching tv and playing computer games more than hanging out outside the house with friends.

Although it is probably unhealthy (at least my mother used to tell me that as a teenager), I am a loner. I always have been. I have four older siblings but we are separated in age by such a wide berth that I feel like I was an only child. My parents had done their parenting thing and I was left to my own devices (Barbies, playing house). That carried over into my teens where I could never rid myself of the act of playing pretend. I would do this in my room, in front of a mirror with the stereo on and a hairbrush for a microphone... to name one. I guess this is why I am a writer. I have such a fantastical imagination and most writers tend to be loners. It is not exactly a group sport. I do have a writing group of friends and I enjoy that very much. I love being with my husband and kids but when he works nights and the kids have sleepovers, I feel like I'm in my glory and I want to stay up all night just to take advantage of the totally alone time. I could write, read a book, chat on the computer or play computer games. Sometimes I do more than one of those at a time.

Pretty interesting. Actually most of the writers I know prefer to be alone most of the time. Some even rent a hotel room just to be able to concentrate and to be isolated from the rest.

Hi. I like to meet up with friends or family at times... I also like to be alone with my husband and our children most of the time too, especially when Im reading or when we're out walking...

I am definitely a loner, though I definitely don't want to be the only person in the world or feel that I am. Being a loner is less common than being a social animal. But, we are all genetically different and have different experiences, so it's not a bad thing. Being very social is probably what has helped human beings achieve more than most other animals. But, you never know how the future will be and perhaps being a loner my become a blessing under certain circumstances.

I don't mind being social sometimes, sometimes I'm pretty out there and ready to go and meet people, but other times, I'm just really not in the mood for that sort of thing and I'd rather not deal with it. Sometimes I just like being alone. I'd rather be by myself, reading, or watching tv, or just doing things online.

I'd like to think that I'm a good mixture of the two. I like to hang out with my friends, and do things with others, but I also understand the importance of having time to do things alone.
