As a parent I think they should start watching what their kids are wearing... And more so the girl...I have 3 girl of my own and I will not let them walk out of the house looking like that...

ya parents have to watch their childrens not the only girls also the boys..... becouse if you want that your children become a good member of soscity then they had to be controled their childs for smaller age, bcoz at that age child listen their parents.

I don't think so, I think parents have gotten caught up in the media hype with letting their kids look like the grown kids that be on tv. Once most parents start letting their kids dress like that, it becomes more acceptable by other parents and so on. Then sometimes you have parents at the age when their child is 14 that can't control them and the child is pretty much doing what they want. I see it all the time on the talk shows the out-of-control teens.

From your angle she might have looked like a tramp. She may be thinking that her dress may be good for her. It is human tendency to comment on others than correcting ourselves.

I don't think parents do. That or parents just aren't really involved in the lives of their children. I think they are too busy working and too involved in their lives, they just aren't that concerned with what their kids are doing or wearing. That, or some parent's just don't care because they don't want to ruin their kids time or make their children their enemy so they just don't say anything to them. It's sad really.

Hiya happybunny I'm a parent and yes I do take care in what my children are wearing, I also have a well developed 13 yr old daughter and luckily for me she doesn't like to show to much of herself off to the world and always dresses lovely and does her hair lovely too and I always think she puts her outfits together very coordinated so really she can take full credit for that because I don't even buy her clothes for her now, I give her the money and she goes clothes shopping with her friends and I always admire her taste in clothing when she comes back and look forward to seeing what she's brought because I trust her but if she wasn't that way then no I wouldn't let her wear anything like that at all.

OMG..tell me about it!! I have been complaining about this for months now..its what the clothes companies are making.. and making them popular..i went clothes shopping with my 9 year old niece and every store..every shirt and shorts were soo short if then bent any way u could see anything!! I was appallled!! and its disgusting..parents need to stop buying them and write letters to companies..but instead..they arent dealing with it..and just goin along.,,because they are in..and your right they all look like little Hookers..or hoochie mommas..theer is no freakin way id let my daughter if i had one..(have a 5yr old son) and i just dont get why parents let there girls wear them..its like.."Hello mr predator..HAVE MY CHILD ON A SILVER PLATTER!!..ya know what i mean?? great topic btw..have a good one!

I do not like the way a lot of girls are dressing, it's asking for uncalled attention. Some of the girls are asking for trouble sometimes...no wonder why the rate of teen pregnancies are going up...

The thing that bugs me is that parents let their girls dress like tramps and then some man looks at the kid and the parents get mad at the man. Well isn't that what the girl wanted by dressing like that? Not the guy's fault, you can't help but look at some of these girls. I think some parents just don't have the time to be parents and kids get away with lots of stuff they shouldn't.

Hi. I have often see young girls, in the city, dressed smutty, and Ive also wondered why there parents let them dress like this... My main issue with this way of dressing for young girls, is the fact that they are only young and there are alot of weirdos out there, that wouldnt hesitate to grab them and do what ever they want, and these poor young girls, will not know how to fight them off, to protect themselves...

we live in the new century... the way of thinking have changed a lot, all the different kind of cloths have changed as they were 20 years ago, now skirts are shorter, shirts shorter an thiger etc etc, and al people are used to it, so its only a cultural change, you can beleive it looks strange but i know in some years it will be obsolete and the clothes iwll be smaller thant today XD

I really don't think a lot of parents do. Kids are especially sneaky these days, though so it can be easy to fool your parents into thinking you're a perfect angel and then going out and dressing up and acting out. I don't think, in general, that you can blame the parents for this behaviour in their children, though. Kids have a lot more freedom - of movement and of expression and definitely make their own decisions no matter what their family rules may be.
