Hi all, I am looking for a good/fun knitting pattern that uses size 15 needles....perhpas a scarf or wrap? I have some wooden needles that I made myself and I'd like to take them for a spin. It's hard to search for pattern my needle size so I'm hoping someone here on mylot can help me out. Thanks!

I was going to say Lionbrand, too, because of their chunky yarns. Have you decided on a pattern yet?

I'm still wavering. It's for a friend so I want to get something within her abilities. But Lion has some good ones.

Do you like shrugs? Normally, I don't really care for them myself, but Lion Brand has a pattern called the Fisherman's Shrug that is actually quite nice: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/50718.html I also love this cable wrap and hat: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60619A.html?noImages=0 The wrap looks nice and easy too because it seems that you just fold it over on itself rather than do any serious shaping. Sadly, youhave to sign in on Lion Brand to view their free patterns. Also, look for patterns with think yarn (like Thick and Chunky) might help you find more patterns that use larger needles.

Ooo...I'm actually already signed up with Lion, so that's no problem. Godd idea to look at the thicker yarns for pattern ideas. Thanks!

Hello. Check out Lion Brand yarns. They have hundredes of free patterns and size 15 neeles is for one of them. My first was done useing Lion Brand homspun yarn, 2 skeins, holding two strands together and just doing a simple knit, purl on size 15 needles. It was fun do do because it went fast and was beautiful after I was done. I actually made 6 of these scarves for gifts! Have fun

Hi. Here are a couple of links to 2 simple scarfs. They both take size 15 needles and call for Berroco novelty yarns. I have not made either one but they appear to be very quick projects and look like they would be fun to wear and good conversation starters. Hope the links still work. well when i learned to knit as a senior in high school three years ago i was never taught to read a knitting pattern so anything that i have ever wanted to knit i have had to make up off of the top of my head as i go along i have always had to wing it and try to picture the finished product in my head before i even started making it and as far as knowing what size knitting needles to use i have always just had to guess to me the size of the needle does not really matter i do not pay that much attention to the size of the stitches i would eventually like to learn to read a knitting pattern when i get a little more time on my hands
