I like rice with curries, the Kerala style in India called sadiya. It is tasty as far I am considered. It is given on a banana leaf.

Avial (mixed vegetable kootu), masala dosai, idli (especially with coconut chutney), saag paneer (or palak paneer), Kashmiri biryani, dhal (sambar), pappadums, mango chutney, tamarind chutney, roti (chapati), fried bitter melon strips (karela), okra (bhindi) curry, pumpkin curry, aloo paratha, sahina, mango lassi, coconut rice, vegetable samosas, halva (especially cherry halva), kulfi, barfi. I know that's a long list, but I love all of them (and more!).

If you can get over the initial 'slimy' texture which puts some people off, okra is great.

Well Shamrack, being a Bengali I love my maach-bhaat any day. Simple fish curry, masoor dal, some bhajis on the side, a slice of nimbu and my lunch is complete. But yes, if once in a while I have to eat outside, then its Biryani for me and tandoori chicken too.

Since I am an Indian, I can eat and digest only Indian food! I love biryanis, pulaos, kababs, curd rice, and the list is endless. As long as it is spicy and enough salt has been added to it, I just enjoy it. I love those banana leaf meals too. The only problem is people don't put enough salt in the rasam. Cheers and happy mylotting.

yes. i agree with you. the kerala sadhya served on a plantain leaf is considered to be fit for a king! It boasts of satisfying all your taste buds, with dishes ranging from spicy, sour, sweet, and bitter. All of them, taken the proper way, actually aids in your digestion, it seems. More over, the banana or plantain leaf is considered eco-friendly too. Sadhyas or traditional feasts are a must in Hindu weddings, where only vegetarian fare is served. It is also a must for festivals like Onam.
