As all my friends know I have five Pomeranians. I have discussed them before. Well no I have a cat, a 10 week old kitten which we named her Kitti. I was on the PC the other night and the TV was playing in the background. Well, I kept hearing a cat, the show that was on "Will and Grace" which I dont really watch, it was just on. There was a cat in the show and it kept on meowing and I thought I was hearing it in stereo, when all of a sudden my daughter who was on her PC came running out of her room saying there is a cat on her screen. Now I thought, yeah right and dismissed it as if she were nuts. She continued to complain about a cat on her screen. So I got up out of my comfortable PC chair and went to take a look. Sure enough there was a cat on my daughter's screen. I went out to try and scare it off and it kept comming back. I sprayed it with the garden hose and still it returned. I finally got it to go inside the shed and then I went to bed. The next morning, my wife wakes me up and says there is a baby crying out side. I got up and remembered that I had put the cat in the shed. I opened the door and let her out. she come over to my feet and started purring. My wife went to work and I told her that I would be taking the cat to the pound. she agreed. So later in the day I took the cat to the pound, to see if they could give her a good home. They sais they don't deal with cats, the guy there suggested that I knew what to do with it. Well I am not going to play pinata with a kitten, thats just not right. So I took her home and made an appointment for the vet. Later that day we went to the vet, where he had said the cat was healthy and gave her a couple of shots and some stuff for fleas, ticks and worms. Now it has been about a week and she fits right in with the family. The dogs and her get along great. She lives in the house with us and I am going to make a scratching post for her, she is scratching my dining room set and end tables in the livingroom. I have her a cage to sleep in at night. So our family is just growing. Oh, I forgot to mention that now the ratio is now 7 to 2 girls out rank in my house. Oh well!

Awwwwww Totty that is so sweet of you It sounds like you are as bad as me when it comes to Animals lol as I have done the same many a time All my Dogs have been rescue Dogs even Gissi and I will always take them as they have all turned out so loving and loyal Babies Yes it is hard work to get them to trust and realize they are loved and that no one will hurt them again but it is so joyful when it is achieved

I have just come across this post and wanted to say - what a lovly story, and thanks for saving this little girl's life. I am a cat person - I have 6, and al were strays or rescue cases. I can't imagine this guy at the pound suggesting what he did - I thought people who worked in those places were meant to be animal lovers! At least here in England they are. Anyway - so glad that you have given this little kitty a home - she will be a great addition to your family I'm sure:-))

They are not supposed to suggest things like that, I might turn him in for that statment he made. She is loving it here, she is free to go and she prefers to stay!

You have got to get some pics of Kitti. It is nice that you have welcomed her into your home. You might consider having her declawed to save your furniture. But if you do that, she will have to be an indoor cat as she will not be able to properly defend herself outside the home. Have fun with your new Kitti.

I am recharging the batteries for my camera. As soon as I can get some photos I will put them here and there and at yours too. We have clipped the nails, we dont know how long she will stay, and she is free to go if she wants. I already felt the sharp nails. She's not allowed in the bedroom, to ruin the waterbed! Hahaha hee hee snort!

Itis noce to see your family is growing and the dogs and your kitti has great frindship. I hope ypou all will enjoy their companion very much as they will do it too. See sometime, in this way it seems like we were made for this job lik you were there to care the kitti otherwise where she could go ? nobody knows

I'm so glad you decided to keep her. It's horrible that the pound would even suggest that you kill that cat. Some people are just so disgusting. That is the reason that I have so many pets. When one comes to my house, I just adopt it, that way, I don't have to worry as much about someone abusing it.
