Do you quench at the thought of seeing a needle in the doctors office?or when having a procedure done by a dentist? Can you watch someone getting one other than yourself?I dont like them at all!I have small panic attacks,so i try to avoid getting one.

Of course given the choice I don't want to get stuck with a needle. When I get blood drawn at the doctors I used to turn my head but now I look because it really doesn't hurt, at least for me anyway. I can watch other people get them just fine.
The dentist is a different story. I recently had fillings done and had to have about 2 shots. The mouth is definitely the worst place for a needle. The numbed me first with a cotton swab but I could still feel it a bit. I'd much rather have a needle in my arm than in my mouth.

I did not like them as a child, but I have started giving blood, and I can tolerate that, as I know it helps save lives. I also have a job that has required me to learn to monitor blood sugars and occasionally give insulin so I am pretty okay with that now. I have been able to stand the sight of blood for a long time, and had to clean up a big blood spill when my lead in a receiving crew cut herself at work, a few years ago. Someone took her to the hospital, and her assistant nearly passed out from the mess, but I cleaned it up. It has been long enough ago that we were not using universal precautions or anything like that at the time.

I hate needles with a passion. Mostly b/c I always end of getting stuck 5-6 times before they can hit a vein and then they try to roll it which is even more painful. I did learn a trick for the dentist though. I've had several back teeth pulled and I always hate when they jab that big needle into my sensitive mouth so I take a tube of Orajel with me and right after they call me from the waiting room I ask for the restroom and go in and put some Orajel on the spot where the Dentist is going to be working. It numbs it up and I hardly feel a thing. I did this last time I had one pulled and it worked great. Now if I can just find something that does the same to my poor arms. :)
HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
AT PEACE WITHIN

I hate needles. I will not look when I am being given a needle or having blood drawn. Not too long ago I had to go for blood tests where they had to take several tubes of blood so the "nurse" opted to use a butterfly needle. It is supposed to be a finer needle but it hurt like bloody he**, even fifteen minutes after she took it out. The next time I went the lady was going to use the butterfly needle and I refused. She said when that many tubes of blood are taken out it is easier on the technician as their hands cramp... but then she added that the patient's comfort is more important. Uh, duh!
I can handle getting my blood taken. I don't need to lie down. I just won't look.
