Most here know I have an 8 year old grandson. He was with me for a few days last weekend. he has dealt with the bridge collpase very well understanding the impact & about the deaths. Now I waited till after the last body was recovered before writing this discussion. My grandson has a hot wheels set of cars & tracks here at my house for entertainment. This is what he called his I-35W bridge collapse. Of course when he mentioned that I had to assist some in setting this up better for some pictures. But most is his doing. He said no one died in this collapse as it was a pretend collapse anyhow. I thought this was great that he did this and said it was pretend and noone died. Anyhow just wanted to share this for him & myself. Thanks all. And thank you too Tyler. I have more pics to add also to responses. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I sometimes think that this is a way for a child to deal with things like that In their little Minds they try to understand that in real Life People die but when they play and pretended no one gets Hurt I will take a look now

yes it is. Children cope in many different ways and even better than most adults in some serious situations like this. Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Pretend play is how kids work out the doings of this world and deal with their experiences. My e mail will not let me look at your photo til I post, but I am sure I will be suitably impressed. Hot Wheels are great, and I have a few around here for my local grandson. It is great to get to enjoy them, too.
