I would like some feedback about other SuperHeroes who you believe have similar powers as HIRO! Please help if you are able to remember any other Time-Travellers. Who else, besides Hiro on NBC TV's HEROES does 'Time-Travel?' Do you know of any Super Heroes who also do this, perhaps comic characters or something like that? I'm keeping a blog about NBC TV's HEROES and I wanted to put a post on my blog, comparing Hiro with other Super Heroes who Time-Travel. Unfortunately, I am coming up a little short. There are a LOT of matches for other Heroes characters to compare against Super Heroes, but Time-Travel seems to be a superpower that is a little harder to track down. For instance: Nathan + Superman = Flying. They both fly... I will check back to see who is able to find 'Time-Travellers.'

Thanks for the response, Fishmomma. Is Dr. Who a Superhero? What kind of character is Dr. Who?

Right, first off, wikipedia is your friend, that should answer most questions you may have about The Doctor (and can we all please start getting it right, it's Doctor Who, NOT Dr Who!) As for time travelling heroes, you won't find many, simply because of the fact that comic wroters (who usually develop most superheroes) like their characters to have a consitent home and time period. There are plenty of examples of characters who have time travelled at least once in their continuity, though none of the following (nowhere near complete list) have any control over time itself, however, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Captain America, several of the X-men have travellled through time on at least one occasion, so have many others. I cannot think of any superheroes who have control over time travel themselves, though some heroes have been known to use time machines, (DeLoreans, Cosmic treadmills, TARDISes and so on). However, some have had control over Hiro's other powers, Nightcrawler and Misfit being examples of characters with teleportation powers of their own. Additionally, Hourman, Kiden Nixon of Marvel Comic NYX and Sway, a one time X-man who could manipulate the flow of time around them, slowing it down or stopping it and being able to move themselves. Villains however, are more likely to have the time travelling power set. In real world terms, this is most likley due to the fact that they do not appear in every issue, and so can pop in and out of the relevant time zone more often without causing havok to the writers (more on this a little later), examples of such are Zoom, Chronos, Black Flash, Flashback, Kang the Conqueror and so on. Now, the problem a time travelling self powered Hero like Hiro, causes is that continuities quickly become a mess when having a time travelling hero stay in one place and time zone, as they are constantly passing themselves, causing havok for the viewer/reader. So far, this has been "controlled" for want of a better term, by the fact that Hiro is not in control of his time travelling yet and often makes mistakes, so does not use it consistently, so, my theory is that if he ever gets particularly good at it, he may well get the proverbial axe very soon afterwards for storyline reasons, afterall, what will be the point in having a tragic event happen that Hiro can just go back and undo it? Anyway, hope some of that proves useful. Cheers, flakmagnet

flakmagnet, WOW - thank you for the thorough response. The information you posted has helped me a lot. I know a few things I want to research now. I had forgotten that I can incorporate 'villians' into my blog, too, which opens up a whole new area of topics. Thank you so much. Fishmomma, thank you for dropping Dr. Who to begin a topic here, because I really couldn't think of ANY characters, except Star Trek characters before you responded!
