Bowling Ball...Meet the face....

It is insane and it happens everywhere all the time!!! It happened here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada around a year ago. A woman was driving in a car with her wedding party. They had had a dress fitting that day and then went out for dinner. On the way home as she approached an overhead bridge she saw this man look right at her from on top of the bridge and then he dropped a huge piece of cement (she had no time to react) It came through the windshield and ripped her face right off. She had reconstructive surgery and still got married on the planned date but those pictures would always remind her and her family of this aweful horror!! It's hard to believe but it's true!

Oh Man!! Poor Guy..That had to hurt like a son of a b****!!! Glad he is ok though. Who in there right mind would throw a bowling ball of a bridge! Hello.....Comon sence would tell you someone could get hurt!! What a bunch of idiots!! I hope they confess what they did, Or get caught.

So many crazy people out there willing to do anything to get a kick that's for sure.. Sometimes people do the stupidest things any one can think of.. Poor guy that's for sure...

How sad for the driver of that truck. I hope he recovers okay. It is just horrible that someone would do something like that. I mean someone could have been killed. I wonder what that person was thinking when doing that. I really hope that they find the person that did this to the gentleman.

Good grief! That is so stupid! Apparently whoever did that had no cares about the lives that could possibly be affected or terminated, or the damage that was done to the driver and his rig. I'll bet it was kids that had too much time on their hands and were up to no good! I sincerely hope that the person(s) that did that are found quickly and given way more than just a slap on the wrist! People could've been killed for crying out loud! (Sorry...had to rant a bit....things like that tick me off to no end!)

My ex was a bowler and after a bad night bowling...he always threatened to throw his bowling ball of a bridge. To my knowledge he never did, but inevitably a few weeks later be would buy another bowling ball. Maybe it was an irrate bowler. IT was sad though....with all of the things people have to do, that they resort to dropping bowling balls off of bridges.

Thats horrible. My husband was a truckdriver for many years. He always told me to look if someone was on an overpass and if there was to change lanes as you go under. Sometimes that is not possible, but you do need to be aware of what is going on around you. Everyone should get in the habit of looking up when going under an overpass.

Wow. I've heard of kids doing dumb things like this, but a bowling ball? What were they thinking?

That is so scary and dangerous. Couple that with random bridge collapses and it makes you not want to even go on the highway. It could have caused some terrible accidents. If it was kids, where were their parents. If it was adults, then why don't they grow up.

I hate stuff like this that happens. My dad is a truck driver and I'm always worried about him. People can be so mean and why in the world would they even want to throw something off a bridge to hit a truck like that. I'm glad it didn't kill him or anybody else. And I really hope they find the mean idiotic person that did this.

This type of dangerous activity has been occuring here in Adelaide. In fact, we had a spate of it last year. Rocks usually. One 18 year old was critically injured, & now brain damaged, by a rock thrown deliberately at his car. Hope they get a long jail sentence. It's sick.

That is just unbelievable, but unfortunately this happens more than I would like to know. It is very upsetting that people are doing this with no consideration for human life. It is absolutely appalling! I truly hope they catch these morons and I hope Mr. Maki is faring better with his injuries.

Oh my gwad How horrible for him. Who ever did this should be caught and punished. It is not funny. I was driving down the freeway and a bunch of guys came out at me and threw eggs at my car. It scared the heack out of me. I have Onstar on my car and called 911 I hope they found the jockers. One of them had an orange sweatshirt on. They did not hurt me nor my car it scared me and it was around midnight.

Unbelievable. I sure hope they find out who is responsible. OMG..This is just horrible. They are lucky no one was killed. How stupid can some people be?

that is really insane... whoever is doing this should be punished severely and hope that the driver will recover soon from the wound... people nowadays are becoming crazier and wierder...

What a sick way to get your jollys. Whomever did this should really do some time. That man could have been killed. What if he had swerved and hit other cars and killed even more people? I do hope they catch the person who did this terrible act.

Holy crap! I hope they caught the people that did that and that the trucker is ok. That's the problem with people today. They don't think before they react.

OMGOSH! That is just so terrible. Thank God the driver was not killed! I hope they find the person behind this insane action! It is just so sad and tragic. :(

Ouch - triple ouch in fact! I know that here there was a spate of these type of accidents with kids throwing rocks and things off of motorway bridges at the moving cars below - this was bad enough but bowling balls? Good grief. I cannot for the life of me figure out why these kids do it or why they get kicks from out of this! xxx
