Before I got a dog I did not think I could love a dog as much as I do. I love her just as much as my own kids. Is this weird?or is this normal?

Yes you can! I have a little mongrel, ugly as the night, but she has a personality of gold. All she wants to do is to give love. All 3 my children is out of the house and for my wife and I she is like a child. Do not misunderstand me, she is not a substitute for any of the children. She came into the house when all three were still in the house. She became child number 4 and all of us love her dearly. Check out my photos under my profile - her name is Maxi.

I don't think it's weird at all, in a way they are children. Before I had kids I had a pug for 10 years. She was my baby. When she passed away, I mourned her for over a year. I still have my days I miss her so much, and I am a mother of two girls now. To me she was my child.

Hi there. We do love our dog, but not as much as we love our children, thats a whole different story in my opinion... If our dog attacked our children, we would have to get rid of her... As for our children, if one of them attacked the other, we definetly wouldnt get rid of them... Theres a limit with our pet...

Hi MariaCal! Eversince I was a kid we always have dogs and cats as pets. We consider them as family members because they protect and love us unconditionally. They never talk back when reprimanded. They greet us when we come home from work or school. They're like people, they have feelings, too. They reciprocate the love and caring we give them! We are happy family! have a great day!

Well, I honestly can't say if I would love my dogs as much as my kids or not, because I don't have any kids, but I do have three dogs, all males. The oldest is almost 5 years old, and he is a black lab. He seems to have the mentality of a puppy still, and we can't keep him in our fenced yard. He jumps the fence whenever he wants to. The second oldest dog is a chihuahua and dachshund mix, and he is almost 4 years old. He is spoiled rotten. I sometimes wonder if he thinks he is a four-legged person or something like that, with the way he gets treated all the time. The youngest just turned one year old, and he is also a chihuahua and dachshund mix. He is also the middle dog's son. I think he is the silliest one of the three of them. He isn't nearly as spoiled as his daddy is though.

No, normal, and this is enough to indicate that you are a caring person, lol .... I hate that kind of the most loved animals, but has not followed proper care of their people, every time I stray dogs in the street will be difficult, if their owners love them they will not live so painful.

i think it is normal as long as you don't love her more. I love my dog like a kid and I don't even have children yet. But he is the only life I have ever had to be responsible for. My friends feel sorry for me sometimes cuz i have so much responsibility but i love my baby. so either its normal or we are both weirdos.
