It worked out well today. I woke hubby at at 9.30am. My daughter came in & gave him his presents, which were a latest release novel, & a matching shirt & tie. I then cooked him eggs, bacon & toast for breakfast. For lunch, we went to St. Francis Winery. We had a beautifil meal with a bottle of red wine. There was a small band playing. The weather was beautiful. All in all, a lovely fathers day.

It sounds like a generally good day just to even be celebrating being alive, and being together. I love it when a day goes that way, nothing to mar it, and time to spend with people I love. Happy Father's Day to all my Australian friends.

hi jenny! this post was made 5 months ago and it won't be long, we are going to celebrate father's day again. now that i am married, i have two fathers to celebrate father's day with. dunno what do now. i don't want to spend for everybody though. i mean, with my father, i will have to do it myself. but with my father -in-law, my husband has 3 other siblings, so i am sure we can do something about it. :-) God bless you!

What you could do is take turns with your Father & Father-in-law, spending each alternate year with one of them.

I never forget their B-Days etc. My kids are just lazy and or cheap especially my son. My wife even forgets days like this. No biggie. But Fathers Day is not as big as Mothers Day but still sort of a big day here.

Is that because Fathers Day is no big deal there, or because your kids can't remember to give fathers day cards? Perhaps if you forget their birthday, they might get a little message.

That's wonderful. I think that is probably the best Father's Day any father in Australia or New Zealand probably had. You sure know how to treat your man, LOL. And it's always lovely when the entire family can be together to enjoy the day and appreciate their dad.
