truthfully, it sounds more like: "because of those evil rich people you as an individual have no real chance to make it on your own, your poor and always goimg to be no matter how hard you work and your only chance to succeed is to join a union."

I do hope you didn't miss my sarcasm. While of course they are writing in support of unions; it is interesting to see how much richer the rich get and how.

It's also interesting once you see what some of those union lobbyists make for a salery.

You have an issue with unions fine. Take it elsewhere. The point of my posting this was NOT about the unions at all. The point was waht the corporate big wigs make while paying their employees far less. The nursing home guy getting all that money when most nursing homes are understaffed is a strong point to look at. If you choose not to fine but stop commenting if you aren't going to comment on the main point of my post.

WOW, that was it in a nutshell. Corporations rake in the profits and refuse to pay their workers, their worth. They rather pay CEO’s sick amounts of cash per year, $100,000.00 a month really, than to fairly distribute that wealth among all of their workers. Change needs to come that is clear. However reform also needs to come to the Unions as well. The unions use to be a wonderful thing and today they still serve a purpose of preventing us from returning to the dark days of working for crumbs. However they are the bullies as well. I have seen my brother forced to join, forced to pay their dues taken directly out of his paycheck, however never have the Union help him when he as called upon them. Not once did they have his back his time of need. The unions have simply sold out to the corporations is what it boils down to. IMO we need to reform those into a strong force that isn't for profit, but for the moral rights of the working class. Then we need to stand behind them and force corporations to pay those that are really making them their profits what they truly deserve.

I'm beginning to wish I didn't post this. My point wasn't about the unions but JUST what corporations pay their big wigs while the little guys struggle each day. Thanks for you comment any way.

I am one of those people who are now underemployed due to the wonders of a global economy. I am in my mid-50s with a master's degree in Info Systems. Yet, due to my age, I can not get a job in my field. I can't even get an interview. I lost my job after over 22 years with the same company. Right now, my salary is way less then 1/2 of what I used to make, A full 1 day of work a week goes to paying for my medical benefits. After this money is gone, I can't afford the deductible or copays to see a doctor I have spent my retirement savings to pay my bills, yet my taxes keep going up and so does everything else but everyone's hands are in my pockets to get more money from me. I am planning on starting a nursing program...but I wonder will someone hire and almost 60 year old RN? Yup...we as the middle class are getting the shaft.

Yes and there are those who don't recognize this. They will tell you that you can pick yourself up by your bootstraps and improve your life. They just don't understand that it is not so easy for everyone. Not because they aren't willing to work hard but because others put up crazy barriers. I got upset cause I can basically be a lactation consultant for free thru LLL but can't get certified and get paid if I don't become a nurse or something else in the medical field first (need a minimum of a Bachelor's degree). I was willing to put in the work for training to be a LC but there is this hurdle that I can't jump. My hubby is an assitant manager where he works. There is a guy in his department who is much younger and doesn't have my hubby's responsibilities but makes $5 an hour more (sickest part of it is that he lives in his wife's grandma's subsidized apartment and pays less than $200 a month in rent and we pay $1000 a month)

It is very good. It has to an extent reasonable facts.
