What's eating you?

Yeah, it's a dumb question and has basically nothing to do with this post...lol. I seem to be hungry most of the time...or bored...or neither but I just want to eat something. Sometimes I crave something sweet, sometimes savoury. I try not to have biscuits or candy/sweets around and I'm not a huge fruit eater. Mostly I just want to pop into the kitchen, find something yummy and eat it but I need to watch my weight. Sometimes I'll get a bowl of cereal or make nachos but I'm not talking about something I need to prepare. Tell me what you eat when you just want to eat something for the heck of it keeping in mind that a health perspective needs to be maintained. All suggestions will be chewed over...

Love this post honey and it is really good to hear from you! Niamh still loves your avatar a lot - it makes her giggle! I am not a big eater but when I know I need to eat something i am like you and have to have it now! I have to admit that I aometimes have a bag of crisps but normally I prefer a bit of fruit or maybe even a milkshake but more often it is a peanut butter sandwich or toast with homemade jam or jelly! xxx

I go on different kicks and then move on to something else right now I love Kelloggs Special K cereal bars..lots of flavors even chocolate drizzle and each one only 90 calories. I like fruit and my fruit of week is navel oranges, easy to peel, jucy and sweet. Now I am going to have a cereal bar as soon as I finish this.. LOL

Hi there. Well, unlike you, I'm very much a fruit eater, so if I get hungry I normally eat some grapes, a satsuma, or an apple. I also am addicted to dried fruit like raisins and currants, and I always keep a bag of them in the house - also dried apricots. Sometimes I have a bar of dark chocolate (always the plain, dark stuff, I don't much like the sweet, milk variety), but normally it is just fruit.

At least suggestions have no calories...lol! I get hungry at the worst time--about 10:00 at night! I sometimes pop some popcorn in a pan on the stove--not the microwave kind--and eat it without salt or butter. I have learned to like it that way! That doesn't always digest well when I go to bed, though. I also like carrot sticks, celery and raw asparagus. (I like crunchy things that require some chewing. That way I feel like I'm getting more bang for my bite!) Another good-for-you snack I do is slice an apple very thin and use a honey sweetened yogurt as a dip. I do not keep ice cream, cookies or potato chips around because I will eat them instead!

I can relate! If I'm actually a little hungry, sometimes I eat cereal, too, or an apple or a handful of nuts, or even a spoonful of peanut butter. The thing I eat when I'm just interested in doing some absent-minded nibbling, however, is a bowl of frozen seedless grapes. They are healthy and satisfy the munch factor, and it is hard to overdose on them. I put just a few in the bowl so that when I run out and want more, then I have to get up and go away from the computer so it is a good break. Also they do not taste as good after they start to thaw, so that is another reason why I only put a few out at a time.

Sounds interesting, however I have sensitive teeth so very cold stuff is out. I love a mix of sultanas and peanuts, sounds a bit healthier than straight out peanut butter...which I love. They taste so very good though, so it's probably not good for me at all....lol.

Good post. I am the same as you when it comes to food. Usually if they are milk I will grab a bowl of cereal or leftovers or chips something I don't have to take the time to prepare something that takes less then 5 minutes. I even eat frozen t.v. dinners, hot pockeets, burritos, So when I am dieting I try to cut back on the things I have in the house so I don't screw up to bad on my eating. I do buy alot of fruit I love fruit but it seems to be the last things I think of when I am scrouging about for food. I try not to have candy or cookies about at all because they are the first thing I head for. umm soft batch chocolate cookies. I do buy those yogurt sticks and freeze them for a cool fast lowfat snack. They are great since it has been so hot out. well I think I will go find me some munchies..see yeah later.

Usually I snack on pudding or cheese slices. I like to have quick snacks that I don't have to heat up or prepare. I just grab it and eat it. Ocassionally, I will have a bowl of cereal or a hot dog. Grapes are good to snack on too.

.."All suggestions will be chewed over..." LOL I'm another one who seems to be hungry all the time--and believe it or not, I do most of my nibbling while in front of the computer...ESPECIALLY after reading a discussion about food...LOL--not fair!! I just finished eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich..I haven't had those in a long time, and like anything you haven't eaten in awhile it tasted SO good! I'm not much into fruit either, though I know it's healthier...do like kiwis though...hehe--I often nibble on cheese, that's my favorite food to snack on hands down..a regular mouse here...

I do the same as you. The problem is i tend to go for the sweet stuff. I try not to but they are tempting. I am lucky to like fruit though, and i try to eat plenty of it. But i will also grab a bowl of cereal or some toast. Best wishes to you, tickle

I like to eat, just to be eating. I'm not usually hungry, but if I see someone else eating, or smell something that smells good Ill grab some. It's a terrible habit. I also have a bad habit of thinking that I need something to drink all the time. I always seem to want iced tea, or pop, or something. I wish I could develop a taste for plain old water. I could probably lose all the extra weight that I've gained.

I always keep biscuits and chips at hand, weight be dammed. I am just like you, always craving for something to munch on. I feel hungry very fast and cant eat too much at one go. It does irritate me sometimes, but I just cant help it. And on weekends, when I have time to laze around, I stock the fridge with cakes, yoghurts, granola bars and what not he he he!

I have times when I think I want to eat and I am not really hungry ,just want to eat something ,but don't know what... of course I love fresh fruit and we always have some in the house . I have heard that just drinking a glass of water helps ,I keep a glass of water on my desk while I am on the computer.I also keep raw almonds in a jar and eat a few ,they are very healthy.. I read some place that heavy meat eaters crave sweets after a meal ,I am more of a veggie person ,but do eat some chicken, fish, and small bit of pork or beef once or twice a week.. try lots of water...lol..not fattening..

My question really does not have to do with anything I eber see dissussed but, you asked what's eating me so, I'll tell you. Im feed up with men. They lie, cheat, tell you they are single when in fact they are not. They declare there love to you and tell you they would do anything for you and this couldnt be futher from the truth.
