My officemate went to the other department of our company to lent something important documents. There are certain sales agent just hanging around in the customer area were talking and laughing. When she passed by in customer area she heard something that made her ear ring and made her blood boiled. She went out and went in again and said something that she did'nt like what she heard about her. Those people affronted her feelings and laugh at her about the dress that she wore. She wore a long sleeve shirt and that maybe she heard something talking as " It is cold in there office?....and then with matching " a big HAHAHAHAHA! (laughed). We have no company uniform and we are required to wear any clothes as long as it is descent. For me there is nothing wrong what she wore. I think she just a victim of a nonsense conversations with people who have nothing to do but to mind other people business...There are really some people who did'nt think first in a zillion if that person will feel bad after hearing something bad against them. Much better to confront the concerned person rather than to make a humor or gossips.

I feel you are right some people have nothing better to do but belittle other people. Now if someone said something nasty to them like that they would go to the head honcho and complain to the whole world. I feel she may have not been so sensitive, sometimes when a person works in an office you need to have thick skin and not pay attention to what others say about you. When I worked in an office, I use to hear gossip and not spread it. One of my office mates use to come and tell me things I would say "I know" he would get so mad because I did not tell him. I was not going to spread gossip and I would never know if what I heard was true or not.

they are beign very mean and malicious. I always say that when people are miserable they try to make others miserable like themselves. This is very discouraging too but I would encourage her to hold her head up high and ignore them. Is she in a higher post than they are?

That is discusting I'll bet they were men. If I were her I would have walked right into the head honchos office and made a report over this. Then I would have walked back into the breakroom and told them if they did not like the way I dressed then hand over their credit cards and I would by something different. If not then don't bother looking at the way I am dressed. Most likely I would have poured water all over the jokesters. hugs

Its a very bad habbit which we can see in many places now a days.Almost in all offices where thee are more people working. But its a general psycology and they feel happy in making such comments.we cant say anything just but pity them.

Yes you are correct. Every office has such gossipmongers who have nothing better to do that just spread useless rumours and gossips about others. They will just comment offhand on situations where they are not involved at all and make passes at people they don’t even know. Its best to avoid such people coz not only are they petty and nasty, they have bad vocabulary too and only someone in a superior position can put them in their right places.

I think that is really sad. People are supposed to work together and respect each other regardless of what she wore. I am sure what she was wearing was fine and was very nice. Your right, they probably had nothing better to do. People are very judgmental and it is wrong to be that way. I am glad she spoke up for herself.

probably they're jealous and feel they could be. those who probably have that kind of life think what they wear are sexy and see others wear genlte clothes definitely have some kind of sentiments. they just probably don't know they don't have that chance to sit in the office. i think it's not just about the clothes but they're jealous of the position she occupies.

They are just beign silly and I would not let that bother me though. I wear long sleeves to work. I woudl feel naked in a short sleeve andvery uncomfortable. I believe that a professional should dress like one and not look casual as if you are going to the park or for a hike. Nothing is wrong with her long sleeves and you can tell her that for me. Look at my picture that is how my clothes are all made or bought. I wear a long sleeve jacket all the time. Tell her to ignore them they are just showing how stupid they are!
