Are you surrounded by noise? These days, the highly-technoligical age is booming. There is music and sound constantly bombarding us left, right and centre. Do you ever get sick of this? Do you thrive with sound - some people cant even study without listening to music these days - i'm thinking i'm becoming one of them! What is your opinion on this current hot topic?

Right now my husband is listening to Harry Potter on Cd, and it bothers me more than the noise of the Tv in our front room, or the horrible commercials. It depends on what noise there is. I love music as long as it is in tune, no rap for me, although I like Heavy Metal. I cannot stand Jack Hammers. I do not mind dogs barking or cat meowing or birds chirping. Oh and I do not want music on while I am studying as it distracts me.

When I was growing up, we lived so far in the country that it was a mile to our nearest neighbot and then another 5 miles to the next one. So as you can imagine, it was quite. Only the birds and animal sounds. Now we live in a very small town but the noise really bothers me. I long for the quiet days and nights

Our house begins to receieve nightmares on Saturdays before we actually go to sleep. We have a Disco Hall next to us which almost pumps our hearts out of our bodies. We hate and have complained to the local authoritues but the culprits are smarter, they bribe their ways and nothing gets changed, every Friday evening we a visited upon by the loudest noise that leaves us completely sleepless. we hate this but there is nothing we can do for now.

Yes, there's noise, everywhere. I don't even like to hear the ticking of a clock, when I'm in bed. If it's daylight, most noises don't bother me that much, but but at night, is the worst. Even things that don't seem loud, sometimes, get on my nerves. The sound of a refrigerator, washer, dryer, or even a computer, when you have a headache, can seem louder than they actually are.

I love silence, what a great thing at these days. But i also love music. So let say that i love to get time when people around just shut up. Is it OK ? Almost as with computers, right now i've got discussion without any talking at all! :) Great

Sometimes I like background noise, such as right now I am listening to the Weather Channel while myLotting. At other times I want the quiet. I actually find that I become tense sometimes when the sounds are too loud, or of a certain type. I am getting older, I guess.

I'm of the kind of individuals who needs silence to study--something that's harder and harder to find today. sigh.

I hate noise and I left the city for the bush. The only noise I have here are the birds... and sometimes the cows. Last Christmas I went back to Sydney for a month... and I could not sleep for the first week. Everytime a car went by... I would wake up. And I was in a peaceful neighborhood. I am so glad that I am not a teenager today. I think I was lucky to be born in the fifties and experience all the new technology of the last 50 years before it became out of control. Today is a mad world... and you can have it. I am staying with the birds.

Since I'm home alone a lot I like some noise some of the day in the form of voices on the TV. But I don't like really loud noises like the cars that go around with booming music and pull up beside you and make your car actually shake. That seems to happening less these days so maybe there is an ordinance against it now or I'm just not out at the right time of day.
