I travel a lot lately. I have visited so many cities in Indonesia like Medan, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Batam, Bandung, Bogor, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Pontianak. Hehehe... I've lived in Samarinda, Surabaya (20 years), and Jakarta (currently, 4 years). During my traveling, this is the most important thing that I always bring besides my clothes and daily needs: 1. My Laptop (can't do anything without it!) 2. Medicines & vitamins 3. Extra bag. In case I bought some presents and gifts from overseas. Hehehe... How about you? What did you bring?

I usually go abroad for pleasure trip, to see places and hence first thing I do is to keep the laptop at home. Secondly, the basic requirements (sometimes it is expensive to buy abroad) are 1. Toiletaries like toothpaste, tooth brush soap, spray 2. Clothing both internal and external 3. notebook, pen and camera and of course money. Iusually buy a souvenir in a city for rememberance of that place and a small booklet explaining various tourist information about that place. I do not buy the articles as it is going to be difficult to carry from place to place while travelling.

You travel a lot also? Hey... we are the same. Wonder when can we meet somewhere around this world? Hahahaha... That would be exciting. Yes. Don't forget to bring your daily needs. Both internal and external, eh? Hahaha... And oh... I forgot. Camera. It's one of the important thing we have to bring when we travel to country we never visited before. Thank you for your response! :)

I think sometime I'd like to visit India, ssh. I wonder how it looks like? People said the traffic there is the same like in Jakarta here. It's jam. I wonder if it's true. If you want to visit Bali, I can give you some tips and suggestions where to go and what to eat. Hehehehe.... :)

Take a vacation someday. Open your eyes to see how other country like. I was amazed when I arrive in Singapore, the first time I went overseas. I was more amazed when I saw the long cable car in Genting, KL, Malaysia. And my eyes popped open when I visited Krabi, the most beautiful beach (currently) that I know - better than Bali in my country. :) Hahahaha.... There are so many experiences you can get when you travel. Not only the places, but also the people. You'll get to know how their habits, attitude, and customs. It's a good experience of live. :) Thanks for your response alansmile... :) :)

I think the items you listed are important to me also. The most important items for me are money, a credit card, and ID, as many places want to see ID. If I have those 3 items, then I can purchase any item that I forgot or the airline has lost.

Subathra my friend.. Thanks for your response to my discussion. Inhaler? Hmmm... I used to have wheezing problem, but I never bring that during my traveling. I used VICKS inhaler usually. Don't know why. But the smells really freshen me up. Your response has been rated ++

When I travel on business, I usually bring with me a notebook to make some notes. A pen is needed for taking notes. If I have to live in a hotel, I will bring with me my toothbrush, my towel, my underwear, my socks etc and pack them all in my shoulder bag. Of course, enough money is taken with me as well...

Since you like to bring with you the laptop, do you mean that you can surf online by using a wireless card without a landline?

Yes. My laptop can connect with wifi and bluetooth. Thus, it makes me easier to connect online anytime anywhere. I use my cell phone as the modem. 3G technology has made everything easier. Hehehehe....

In my case, I always bring my pillow, blanket, towels, vitamins, and related stuffs. I just can't sleep well without those things beside me during my bedtime.

The most important thing for me to bring a long whenever I'm travelling is my digital camera and a lot of memory cards. I love taking photos when I'm travelling, and usually come home with hundreds and hundreds of photos. They remind me of all the experiences that I had in other countries. I usually take a couple of photos from each big trip, and have them blown up. Then I get them framed and display them in my home.
