You live in a society and interact with other people. To a large extent your happiness depends on such inter-personal relationships. The people you meet are either approved or rejected by you. But what is more important is th e fact that you must win the approval of other people. In fact, your own self-approval must, to a large extent be based on the approval of others. You must honestly find out how other people feel about you. From Ajay's example you know that, had he attempted to find out the truth about his writing abilitieis, he would have discovered other unfavourable opinion on this score. So long as there is no difference in your own self-image and the image others have of yoy there will be no conflict. You can quite easily check the accuracy of both images, by making notes on a piece of paper and find out if there are any differences between the two.
