Do you wake your kids up in the morning? Or do they wake you up?

For awhile my daughter was getting up so early, that she would wake me up. And, by nature I'm not a morning person, so it wasn't easy. But, now that she's a older, she sleeps a little later and most times I'm the one that wakes up first. But, considering that she doesn't go to kindergarten yet, I don't wake her up right away. I try to let her get as much sleep as possible, without sleeping too late, or else she ends up grumpy all day until her nap. So, do you wake your kids up in the morning? Or, do they wake you up? Does it differ when they are on summer vacation and have no place to go? Do they sleep late on those mornings?

Hello beautyqueen26, I have a very good alarm clock - my one year old baby son. He always wake me up in the morning at 6.30. He used to sleep early at night and wakes up at the same time in the morning - be it on weekdays or weekends. So, I do not have the opportunity to wake up late every day. Even my husband is also a morning person. If he happens to play a lot and very active during day time, he will sleep a little bit longer which is very seldom to happen. I don't have the heart to wake him up if he overslept sometimes...

I wake up my daughter-- on school days- unless it's a big day then she gets up prior to me- (like on her birthday, she was up first). On the weekends- I am up most of the time before her and I let her sleep in- Sometimes I have to wake her or she'd sleep until noon. My daughter is 11.

Our kids always wake us up. Vary rarely are we up before them unless we have to go somewhere. They get up earlier now too. we have them on a schedule now since our oldest started preschool. so now our 2 year old gets up by 7:30 instead of 8:30.

Most of the time it is my wife and I that make him up during the weekends and summer and winter vacation. As he has to go to school to study in the evening and won't come back till nine thirty in the evening, he finds it difficult to get up at six in the morning. My wife always wakes him up to get ready for breakfast before going to school.

I am the household alarm clock, and I was always an early riser. When my kids were too young for school I let them wake up when they needed to, as I did not have to go to work anywhere, and drop them off. By the time my son was in school I did drive school bus, and get them up to ride with me. I had a certain time of day I never let them sleep past. I think on Saturdays I would let them sleep and lazy around in pajamas if they wanted to, as that is what my mom did when I was growing up.

Normally I used to wake my children in the morning. But sometimes it happens vice versa, but the strange thing is that they wake me up when they have holiday.

I get up at 5 am to get my husband ready for work. lol I have to fix breakfast, get his lunch packed etc. Sometimes, my son will get up when he hears all the noise, and join us for breakfast, but most times he either stays asleep, or just stays in bed because he doesn't want to get up. If he doesn't get up at 5, I let him sleep until he decides on his own that he is ready to get up. Usually around 9 is the latest he sleeps. I make sure he is up by 10 for sure, but he rarely needs me to get him up. If he wakes up at 5, he usually takes a morning nap and an afternoon nap, and I don't have to wake him up from either of them.

Now that my son is in Kindergarten, I wake him up every morning. He is so exhausted by the end of each day and is in bed asleep by 8pm. I wake him up just before 7am and get him ready, eating breakfast and off to catch the bus at 7.45. I set our alarm clock for 6am so i can get up and get him and his father moving. In the weekends he gets to sleep in and I let him get up when he is ready to get up. It's usually by 9am at the latest.

well im up every morning at 530 and im like clock work,i start doing the wash, and dishes and all the house chores hoping that my babies wont get up yet, well every day since i can remember they are up at 545 in the morning yelling for me,one day i wish they would sleep later but i dont see that happening yet especially with my twins, one will get up and bother the other one.and there is times where i put them to bed later at nite hoping they will sleep late, and they just know that mommy is up so we can bother her lol.god i would love to sleep late just one day and not get out of the bed till noon, but its wishful thinking.

OH BOY!!I never wake my daughter up!lol. If i want her to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day,i just have to wake her up and im set for a day of grumpiness. She does not wake up good when woken.I let her sleep and i usually wake up 1 hr -2 hrs before her and she wakes uo herself in a good mood but it takes her awhile to come out of her sleep. She just lays on the couch watching a cartoon.I woke her up one time and wow what a morning.:)

My son usually comes in my bed (as husband starts at 7 most mornings) and he plays quetly or reads (looks at pictures) and talks quetly for about 30 min or so but at least he is quet and in my room so I can half hear him. And than he gets bored and starts to play with my hair or hides under the blankets, tickels me and than he starts yelling "wake up jeff" man why did I ever let him watch the wiggles :)). Then I have no choice but to get up.
