I was taught that Australia was first populated with English inmates. They are part of the United Kingdom but they have their own Prime Minister.Like all former colonies, like The U.S. and Canada, we speak our own kind of English. It has regional slang or sayings and we use the same words but they mean different things. So when our English cousins come visit, they will understand most of what we say but some things won't make sense.

I don't see anything'ss wrong with the Aussie's english...Yes, they do have a bit similar accent to the British but may be due to some of local environment then the accent is a bit different. I would say that Australian's English are better than peoples who are living at the Southeast Asian as English is their first language.

Hi there, what's up?
Well, i know and i can tell that Aussies can speak English and they also good in English as it is their primary language as well.
And as far as i know, that the history of Australia was began when people first migrated to the Australian continent from the north, a long long time ago.
The written history of Australia began when Dutch explorers first sighted the country in the 17th century.
Then the interpretation of the history of Australia is currently the matter of contention, particularly regarding the BRITISH INVASION and the treatment of Indigenous Australians.
Hope that it can clear up your mind regarding your concern here.
Have a nice day ahead and happy posting and earning here in MyLOt and Godspeed!

Hey again :)
I had a quick look through some of the coursework I did and I found this link that I used to get some information myself. It's only a case study but it should give you some more insight into the colonisation of australia by britain.

I hope that helps you out a little. I'll look for some more for you as I go along :)

If you are asking if australia was a british colony then yes, we did go to australia and colonise it.
However, we didn't send many rich people over there, we rounded up poor people who were 'cluttering' the streets and criminals (people who may have only stolen a loaf of bread to feed their families) as well as the worst of our soldiers (those who were basically rubbish at following orders).
I will go back through some of my coursework and see if i can find some links to information for you.
